I am getting ready to do Roller rockers, LT4 valve springs, pushrods, etc. Which gaskets should I buy? The Fel Pro valve cover gaskets I found on Summit racing show "All LT1 Except Corvette" What's different about our engine? Do I need new gaskets that go on the valve cover bolts as well or are they included with the valve cover gaskets themselves. I also need to know which valve stem seals I should buy.
Part numbers for all would be great. |

Bottom line here is really you dont need new ones unless they are leaking. They are rubber rocker cover seals and can be reused without any issues. So unless yours are leaking, you dont need any.

Thanks blokes My guess is the "LT1 EXCEPT Corvette gasket set" is due to the fact the rocker covers on Corvette LT1s are different to the other LT1s

Case, and others, Thanks for the replies. My gaskets are not leaking, but won't they have a tendency to, once I take them off? My 94 has almost 109K on the clock should they still be OK? .I ordered a set today, before I read your replies, I guess I'll just have them "in case". I suppose that the same goes for the seals that go around the valve cover bolts?
What do you all think about valve stem seals? I assume that I will have to remove them when I change out the springs, should I go ahead a replace them? If I do need to replace, should I go back with Genuine GM or is there something better out there? Thanks for all the help here. |

You might as well do the valve stem seals, but id say the seals around the rocker covers will be fine. My right hand side cover has been off more than 5 times since ive had the car, and i know it has been off before that too. Seals are original and dont leak a drop. My 94 has about 153,XXX klms on it, so im not far behind you.

No worries mate ;) Keep using the valve cover seals as long as they are good. When they start to leak, swap them over then.

genuine GM is fine for the valve stem seals. Sealed power/ trw is an excellent brand. Aloha
