What are your recommendations on a oil catch can under $100 that actually works? I know each forum has their favorites.

Yea, those are top of the line, but way out of the price range. I know this can be accomplished for less, however I don't want to settle for an eBay one because they are practically useless without baffling.

GZ Motorsports. Call and talk to Bill Huntington. GZ makes a catch can specifically built to go on the fenderwell by the radiator shroud of C5 and C6 Corvettes.
http://www.gzmotorsports.com/BT2-breather-tank.html I use a GZ Vacuum Pump on the 434 in the race car - also have their catch can (baffeled w/breather), fittings and hoses (Red Horse).... Good quality stuff for the money. Will |

I'm sure it's good quality, but why add a vent to the PCV system? |

I'm not positive how he intends to run the plumbing.
The way most route it (single line from the valve cover to can) your going to pressurize the catch can if the catch can doesn't have a breather. Now if the catch can was run inline between the valve cover and TB... ie valve cover to catch can then from catch can to the TB... then yes you need a non-vented can. Will |

I see what you're saying, Will, but since the PCV vents back in to the motor, I don't see how you would route it to pressurize the can only, without eliminating another portion of the system (ie, no return line).

Doesn't matter to me. I don't have any of the PCV hoses setup yet on the 1990 I am working on so I can route it so it goes back into the intake or I can use one with a vent. On my C6 I have one without a vent and so far I am happy with the performance. Just trying to figure out what the best direction to go in is. My C6 is supercharged and this is naturally aspirated.

No reason to run a catch can on a Normally Aspriated engine. It shouldn't push out any oil. If I did not want to run a PCV system, I would put an open element breather on the valve covers (this is what I have on my 92). Will |

I disagree, I think a catch can is fine to help keep the intake clean.
