Hey guys - its been a while. Sold the green monster in 2014, saw it a few times after that but it was totaled in 2016. Had a couple whiskies to commemorate. (For those of you that weren't around, it was one of only two C4's in the US running a Vortech YSi supercharger... and I tuned it from scratch. Total beast).

Discovered a couple weeks ago that it didn't go to the scrap heap after all.. and it still runs and drives (not legally). Salvage title, "major damage" on Carfax. I went to see it and almost cried - not in good shape, but.. starts fine and still sounds like a total monster. He was excited to meet the guy that built it... I asked him to sell it to me immediately, but he could see the pain in my eyes and got greedy asked $19k. Holy smokes, that woke me up. Next morning I made a decision.. I need a cool C4 again, but I'm not about to drop thousands into repairing something that hasn't been maintained for years.

So.. welcome "Greenwood" to the family. Completely stock 1996 CE 6MT with a love it or hate it Greenwood kit. (I LOVE it). I plan to do some cool suspension and frame mods.. these days I have 100% access to whatever custom fabrication I want! (back story - my son competed Formula D for a few years, and during that time built a couple race cars from scratch. He's a wicked fabricator :-) )

Pictures to follow...

Looks like an upgraded C-4 to me. Any car person that looks at it either knows Greenwood or can tell it's not stock. Haven't said this in awhile ..... "Enjoy the ride."

The Greenwood is about the only kit I would get! Looks really good!!

It takes courage to ask $19k for that sad vert... that's a shame, it hurts to see something you sweated over get so beat up... sad...

Congrats!!!!

The PO said "only 600 were ever made". But - I've been looking at numbers and I cant see anything to back it up, it's not a factory option. Maybe Greenwood have some stats on kits purchased.

Since they were an aftermarket kit, the build is, basically, how many kits did they sell? That 600 is realistic... I can't say I have seen all that many... I have seen cars with Greenwood components, sure - a wing here, rocker covers there - but entire packages?

Also, don't get too warm and fuzzy... unlike the aero kit from Callaway, this wasn't part of an OEM package. In short, this is just another aftermarket product and we all know what aftermarket bits do to OEM values.

However, this kit was well done and has many added benefits... the hood heat extractors, the bigger gill vents, the wing that has an actual mount down to the frame vs being bolted to the SMC... it all adds up to a kit that actually WORKS. Super cool, really.

I agree - it's nicely done and has some cool features. I like it a lot :-) It will probably detract from value but I was happy with the deal I got.

As for numbers, as far as I'm concerned it's a stock 1996 CE with a manual and LT4.. when I wanted to get back into C4's it "had" to have an LT4.
