Morning guys... got the alternator installed relatively easy. I told GS before I even started that I felt that the most difficult part would be reinstalling the serpentine belt. Removing the old alternator was pretty straight forward, the hardest part was just getting the old one wiggled out. So thinking it might cause an issue putting the new one back in, but it basically dropped right in. Bolted it back up, relatively easy... a couple bolts didn't want to start too easy. Then the serpentine belt was in fact the worst part, You can't see it at all, as it sits under the front motor mount brace. I could, sort of, see the crank and the alternator pulleys and was pretty careful when I took it off, but trying to put it back onI knocked it off tghe crank,so had to jack up that side, crawl under so I could feel my way to putting it back on. Then finally got it. But while under it I noticed that it was caked with dried mud. So once we got the alternator done I backed it out and spent the next hour and a half with the pressure washer cleaning the under side of the Enclave. I guessing 50 to 75 lbs of the crap. That pretty much took care of the day for me. Cleaned up and went to church.

Overnight a cold front moved through, dropping the temps from yesterday afternoon from 85 to 34 now and clear down to 12 overnight tonight. Several trees here have started budding out, the dramatic drop will definately cause soe issue there. 72* drop in approximately 36 hours. Then on Wednesday, back into the upper 80s, maybe 90. Welcome to southwest Kansas.

Not doing much today, staying out of the wind... even slept in until almost 8:45, so lazy day here.

....those belts can be a pain... not too bad on the Corvettes..... C5 and 6's

I was reading on the other forum that a Corvette Club in Arkansas was on a run thru the twisties and someone went to fast into a corner and crossed over and hit an SUV... Vette passenger did not make it.... hope that wasn't VB's club... I have always know the Vette's are exceptional in their abilities way better than my ability to use all they can offer....

blizzard day here in Cornville.... wind snow.... Panhandle has been on fire since Thursday... roughly half a million acres burned.... still ongoing.....

be careful out there Guru's.....
