In the driveway everything still looks great
Idle 40 psi
Idle with pressure regulator vacuum removed and plugged 46psi

Driving around steady speeds IE in town or 80-85mph on the highway 36-38 psi
Punch it during steady speed the pressure jumps up above 40 psi but it drops quickly

WOT Maybe 42-44psi but it quickly drops below 40 psi to maybe 36 psi but it's hard to watch gauge and road at same time.

Is it time for an aftermarket pump or is the fpr tired?

Sounds like the FPR might be showing some age.

It was the pump!
Just installed the Racetronix kit and now the pressure is where its supposed to be no matter how hard I hammer it!

Fuel pressure is supposed to change when you hit the throttle.

It's referenced from the plenum pressure. So if plenum pressure goes up, such as at 100% throttle and low rpm, or way down, such as at idle, the fuel pressure will change by the same amount. But even that's only a few psi change.

Yes,
Now its a little above 40 during slow driving, about 43 during highway spirited driving and around 46 when I'm beating on it like IKE on Tina.
