I have a 1994 LT1 and live in HOT Florida. My issue is my old 1994 Ford Ranger with 197K miles has a better A/C system than my 1994 Corvette that has 63K miles. My Ford Ranger is icy cold but my Corvette A/C barely functions. I checked the freon and it's full. The compressor kicks in as I can hear it and feel it when I drive but the air coming out of the vent is not cold, it's barely cool.
What should I do first to address this? Any advice is appreciated... Billy |

Do you have a glass top?
How did you check the freon? Where in FL? |

Wilson, do you have DataMaster? You can check the gas pressures with that, provided your pressure sensors are working as they should.
Datamaster will show you: * A/C clutch request status * A/C clutch status * fan relay 1 and 2 status * gas pressure From all that info you can see abit, and using the factory service manual diagnostic section on HVAC, you should be able to see what is going on. (youll want to start looking around page 1B-9 of book 1) |

Debris in the condenser will decrease the cooling efficiency, and also cause high head pressures and too frequent on/off cycling. Easy to check and clean if need be.

I don't have a Datamaster. I do have a code reader that reads OBD 1 & 2. Might try to see what it can do for me. I also have the FSM, (red books one and two)....
I'll check for debris but it should still get colder than it does. My old truck will freeze me out at it's lowest settings. No glass top, I have a coupe. With the MSD Opti and electric waterpump, the car runs great. Just wish that A/C had more "ump".... I live near Cape Canaveral in Florida and it's hot and humid here. Need A/C to survive the summers. Dont think the scanner will do what youre after, unless its a TECH1 or simular, but you can download DataMaster for free, scan 20 times for free, and it will tell you some important info.
