It took me two hours to get the A.I.R. pump gutted and the piping removed. No more rattling. Can't tell much difference with the pipes removed though. Anyway, The filter on the front was flaking off and toasted. My pully is slightly warped from the heat but it still operates fine. Returned the eliminator pully.

I took out the insides and lubricated the whole thing, removed the filter behind the pully and lock tited all the bolts. Also cleaned it up. I thought about painting it black but decided against it.

It was my birthday tuesday so I got some HID Foglights from Vleds. I got the blue tinted ones. I believe they are 6000K. Anyway, I knoew the solid whites are brighter but these are still way above the stock lights so it is already an improvment. When they come in, I will see how much it will cost to get the taillights and those installed. The taillights are going to be a real bitch to get to though for the installer. I am probably going to do the headlights later down the road with the interchangable bulb housings. The kit from BPP is way to expensive and I don't care for the looks either.

Thats about it for me....Seems I haven't missed much here.

The only thing I need to ask is this. My antenna motor will not stop running and the antenna will not go down. Any ideas and a price range? I am about to go out and work on it. Appreciate any help that can be given.

the antenna is simple... you need a new mast. it's cheap enough. call Chris at Superior Chevy, tell him we sent you. 1.800.728.8267. It's about $15.00 or so.

Do you mean you can't tell a performance difference? I don't think you will. I did it simply for cosmetic reasons and the ease of getting into the engine bay to work on things.

haha. No. I meant space wise. I can't tell much difference space wise with all the pipes gone. I did not remove the ones on the manifolds though. I was confused and they seemed to be welded? Oh yea, on the side beside the A.C. condensor, their was wires and a box that the air pump plugged into. What was that? If someone has pics of it before and after removed and info on what it does, would be appreciated. Thanks....

I left the tubes that are welded on the manifolds - I just unscrewed the air tubes that were attached to them. Otherwise you could cut them off and weld the holes closed. The black box - I honestly never even looked in the FSM to see what it does, I just took it out...lol.

So, removing it has no ill effects...Thats cool. It does seem to take up some space.

That box diverts the smog pump to the cat or headers or to atmosphere. If you remove or gut the pump you can remove all that too. Just cap the smog tubes on the headers.

So yesterday I get all the black stuff removed. I have a vacum hose left that leads under the plenum and I am not sure how it works and what it was doing on the plenum connected to the black box. I also have 2 plugs that plugged into the black box. Did I do this right? Whats with the vacum hose and what do the plugs do now? Hope I didn't mess anything up. The plugs look like the one where the TPS is on the side of the TB. Thanks.....

Just cap it, or find out what it connects to, ditch the plastic tubing and put a rubber hose between those two ports.

I think it goes from the plenum to the fuel pressure reg and to the smog stuff. So I ran a tube from the plenum to the fuel pressure reg instead. Just zip tie those plugs out of the way under the plenum, and remove the black boxes. I should upload a pic.

I used some zip ties on the connected and just tied up the vacum hose. I used epoxy to block off the holes by the manifold.

So....will this vacum hose unplugged from the fuel regulator effect it in any way? I just tied it off and left it hanging. I don't want the car to stall or starve for fuel...

I don't understand why you unplugged that - you mean the line running into the FPR on the intake manifold? That's not the AIR system.

Can you take pics because I'm a little confused as to what lines you took off.

No, it's fine. Just run a direct line from the manifold to the fuel pressure regulator behind it. Or cap the end of the hard plastic line.

There's a "Y" shaped plastic line, the bottom of the Y goes to the smog stuff. The top right goes to the plenum, the top left goes to the FPR. So get rid of the "Y" and put in a "U"

Vacuum lines are very simple. You have a source (plenum) and then a bunch of components it connects to.

What will happen if I leave the hose hanging as is now and don't make it a U shape?

If you leave one end of the vacuum tubing open you'll have a vacuum leak.

I removed the tube and their is a white piece of plastic going off in the three different directions. I put a piece of molding/self hardening epoxy over the hole where the smog tube went. Is that good enough? It's tight and hard now...Shouldn't be any leaks.

Sounds okay.

I guess somebody replaced your hard vacuum lines awhile back with plastic tees and rubber tubing. Which is fine also.
