A guy in my club was selling a set of 11" factory original ZR-1 wheels and BF-Goodrich G-Force Drag Radials in 315R35-17. He used the drag radial one race day with three passes on his 1994 ZR-1. The wheels are very dirty now, but have NO curb rash because they have never seen a curb. I sampled an area with some polish and wax and they will clean up like new when I'm done.

I paid $500 - I think I did good but didn't have time to really check around as he was getting ready to post them up on FleaBay

What do you think?

Sounds very fair. I would not have an issue.

Not sure. Depends on how old the DRs are. Check the date code.

I'd say it sounds good to me - those OEM rims go for a pretty good price w/o the drag radials.

If they're in as good of condition as you say, the rims alone are worth the price.

I cleaned them up yesterday, and one of them a little better this morning. There is no curb rash at all, however there are a couple scratches and one small gouge that looks like an impact wrench went awry.

If they are as expensive as you say, then I feel I got a good deal.

I checked the date code - Tire Rack explains this pretty good. My date codes are

DOT BAXUYJ210404

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=11

Mine are about four years old, but they still appear to be very soft and pliable on the tread and have all the "Cat Whiskers" on the sidewalls. Looks like new tires except the evidence on the tread from a burn out or two.

Good enough I guess. Now burn em up before they get hard.
