i have installed a new pioneer deck in my roadster because i needed an ipod hookup, and the previous owner had the bose system taken out, and had eclipse speakers installed. i'm needing to add an aftermarket amp in my C4 roadster, where in the hell could i install an amp, and have it hidden, or out of the way.... as we all know that C4's are at a premium for trunk space

any help is appreciated

the roadster is an even bigger problem... so much of the rear deck area is absorbed by air... You could mount it WAY back against the rear bulk head, but with the top down, it won't get much air.

You can check space behind the passenger seat or under it.

will it fit between?

Space is a bitch in a C4... it really stinks in that regard.

Why do you *need* an amp? Do you have component speakers in the doors? If you just have basic speakers in the doors, you can run them off the head unit. The sound won't be as clean, but for the average person the difference is negligible, and in that case it's probably not worth adding the amp.

You can fit a small one under the passenger seat if you have a manual seat rack.

I put mine behind the drivers seat on my 85. This could get in the way if you're taller than 5'10" or so. Or you could stick it behind the passenger seat.

In hindsight, I shoulda gotta smaller amp and stuck it under the seat.

HUH I thought that was why they put those compartments behind the seat.

Welcome to the forum. Did you do anything to reinforce the storage compartment for the sub install? Did you seal off the top of the enclosure somewhere, or just screw the storage tray in place.

How is the sound quality?

I actually built a wall in the compartment so half of it would act as a sub box. I then lined the box with foam padding and ported the area. I wanted a decent sound (no BOOM BOOM all bass) without any of it showing. Believe it or not it sounds really well and due to the fact the subs are at your back I do not need to work the subs much at all. For the $500 bucks (total) I have in the sound system it sounds really impressive. I also have a decent pioneer head unit and pioneer door and rear speakers.

Here are some more pics.
