The instructions say to drill a 3/16" hole into the fresh air duct. The duct is rubber and doesn't lend itself to a clean hole or nice looking factory type install.
You guys that installed the 92-93 MSD opti and had to install the fresh air line, where did you install it?

The factory vents are indeed just a hole in the duct with a 90° plastic nipple stuck in the hole to put the hose onto. Find a suitable place and use a sharp bit, shouldn't be a problem.

On the accordion hose that goes between the MAF and the TB. The left, upper side at about the 10:30 position on the most forward ridge of the hose.

On my 92, I put the fitting on the bottom of the accordion where you can't see it.

you can also use a soldering iron to melt a hole in.

the trick is finding a good vacuum source to cycle the air correctly. the venting needs positive pressure to truly vent the opti.

Good idea Andy! MSD supplies a T fitting to get vacuum from the left side intake manifold. Good?
