Hey guys,
I'm wanting to retrofit a late C3 dual snorkel OEM cold air intake duct system to my '76. I'm told there are differences between the radiator core supports that may make this virtually impossible.

The air duct system that I'm wanting to retrofit came on 78, 79 models with with L82 or any 80-81.

Here's a pic of my core support:

Here are some pics of what I'm wanting to install if it will fit:

The problem, I'm told, is that my radiator mount brackets are too close together for the air intake duct to fit. Can one of you check yours and tell me how far apart they are on your later model?

Doug have you been able to test fit it and see where it all sits and what interferes?

I'm trying to find out if it's going to work before I buy the duct set. I have the dual snorkel cleaner assembly, but none of the ducts.

If the ducts won't fit, I'll probably buy the Ram Air Box air cleaner, even though it's very spendy.

I know a guy here locally that has a '78. If you're planning on coming this weekend...maybe for that wheel, I can see if maybe he can meet with us somewhere and you can measure whatever you like on this car. How's that sound?

76 had an early and late design. If the attaching points for the lower part of the shroud has a bracket with a stud for each side it is the 1 design. If the lower part of the shroud attaches with two clips it is the 2nd design 76L-81. With what you are trying to acomplish it will work as pointed out the diffrence is in the lower shroud attaching points.

I have an early one, built December 11, 1975. Here's a picture of my setup:

And I got a pic today of an '80, the top support brackets are much further apart:
