Hello,
I am installing a Pioneer AVIC-F900BT in the C6. I was reading and it seems as though I need to add one of these...... http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=265-042 .... and a couple of these....... http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=265-012 ... except, I have absolutely no idea where they go and what they do.... anybody car to explain. Thanks, Dan |

They are for eliminating alternator noise/ignition interference if you have an amp and subs. On some systems you can turn the radio all the way down and hear a hum coming from the subwoofers or speakers that will increase/dercrease while revving the engine. They are not necessary in a properly installed system with good grounds. I do not believe you need one.
Matthew Edit - ps, the second one is for home stereos. |

Yeah those are simply Band-Aids for a problem that can be solved with proper wiring and grounding.
