This is amazing to me, check out my R6's in these pics or more specifically, the red stripes on the tire and wheel. They were mounted without soapy water by a shop that does alot of circle track tires. They were brand new and you can see that the RF tire rotated in the braking direction (asuming that it did not rotate fully multiple times. This may or may not be a valid assumption???). I marked them with a paint stick to see if the rotate and they certainly did! This is after 6 sessions at NHMS with me and Roy Benedetti driving.
RF tire and wheel:

Now here is the LR and it has rotated in the torque direction (again, same assumption):

When I was building Tamiya 1/10 R/C vehicles, you were supposed to put a bead of adheasive on the tire when you mounted it on the wheel.

You just need a big 'ol bottle of Elmer's and you'll be good-to-go.

Yea, a problem with heavy cars. It's interesting that it happens with the tires mounted dry.
What tire press?
I've looked at the marks after each session and they usually move only an inch or two so, I'm confident they aren't rotating multiple times.
It happens under braking and with better brakes.........

I have seen different ODs at the bead on different brands of race wheels. Some may vary by 1/8th. Sometimes you can get a feel for this by how easy the tire goes on on the machine and how easy the bead pops.

I'd call Hoosier direct.

I use WD40 to mount tires with no problem but most of the cars I play with don't have the weight.

I always mark the tires and I mark the tires each session to count heat cycles.

Gary, I know I only get about an inch or so movement from my tires per day when running about 5 sessions. These are Kumhos. The SWC team that I help from time to time, only has about a 1 inch slip on their Viper per session.

The other thing is, why are you marking the inside of the rim, tire. You should be marking it on the exterior and noticing the change when you get out of your car to do the inspection.

Most of the guys I have spoken to seem to think this is normal for Hoosiers! I put the stripes on the inside because I did not think this would be so relevant, but for sure, they will be on the outside from here on.

Yea, Oz are like that. Slippery, scuffing the bead on the next change may slow it down a little.

Just flip them left to right inbetween sessions.
