Which reminds me, Two Sunrise Police Cars showed up at our autox last weekend. Happened in Hialeah too. They like to find out what the noise is all about. They stay awhile, watch, then leave after they have talked to the event organizers. We were'nt going 162 mph though.

Why would they care? It's a sanctioned, authorized event on private property, right?

This situation with DC is just bull. It sounds like a money grab to me... I hate ignorant government types.

Actually the only thing bull is that article. 60mph was part of the agreement, and the driver knew that.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/world ... on.html?printingPage=true

Authorities in have launched an investigation after admitted speeding during a Formula One exhibition in Mumbai.

The ex Formula 1 driver apologised after he was clocked driving at 160mph - nearly three times the prearranged speed limit - in a specially prepared section of public road.

However authorities failed to see the funny side and demanded an inquiry that could see Coulthard fined, banned from driving in India or both if he is convicted.

The event's organisers also stand to forfeit a £20,000 deposit being held as insurance against any possible speed violations.

Coulthard was in Mumbai with his former team, Red Bull Racing, to help build up appetite for an Indian race on the Formula One calendar.

He had joked beforehand that he planned to ignore the 60mph speed limit and go flat out on the newly-opened three-mile stretch of road as he didn't intend to drive in Mumbai again.

Satish Gavai, managing director of Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation, said: 'I have asked my officers to submit a report on the event.

'Action will be considered only after it is established that the vehicle went beyond permissible speed limits on the sea link.'

Speed limit: Coulthard, seen waving at the crowd during the event, was clocked at 160mph on the stretch

Responding to speculation that Coulthard could be banned or fined, he added: 'We will come to that after we receive the report.

'If there is anything incriminating it will be handed to the appropriate authorities.'

Coulthard covered the Bandra-Worli sea link, which spans the Arabian Sea and connects different parts of Mumbai, back and forth in an impressive three minutes.

A passenger car would have taken close to seven minutes to go just one way at the official speed limit of 30mph, which had been temporarily doubled for the F1 exhibition.

After getting out of the car, Coulthard said: 'I was trying to judge what 60mph would be but I have no speedometer on the car.

'I spent my career driving over 200, so I am sorry if I went over the speed limit.'

I'm sorry, I was referring to Tommy's post in the private property comment.
