Seems this guy was a local short track racer (at a NASCAR sanction track). The press is playing it up pretty well. NASCAR was quick to point out he's a nobody, not really associated with us.

Looks to be an 03 Z06. I bet that Deputy was pretty shocked when he gave chase, merged on to the 5 and rounded that bus to see those C5 tail light about a mile ahead of him....
