Do you have to bend the dipstick tube to get it off the manifold stud?
Or is there some other trick I'm missing? |

I have found the tube to be a real pain to get off.
It requires a little flexing to get it off the stud. It's rather tight on the threads. |

I agree with Andy. The TAB is tight on the stud, so I bend the tab up while twisting the tube back and forth and pulling the tube out.
The tube itself remains rigid and un-bent. |

If it's anything like the L98 I had to bend the tab and then use a lot of persuasion to get it out without destroying it. I think I used some vice grips that were clamped down (but not too tight) to pull it out.

Bend it if you have to. No big deal. Mine's nowhere near where it used to be from the factory due to LT headers, different plug wire routing, etc.
