Hi Rich,

I don't recall having to mess with an o-ring on my '96. But then again I may have just erased an unpleasant memory - the job is kind of a PITA ;-)

Good luck and be careful!

Thank you sir for the fast response.I learned today that ordering every nut and bolt from the corvette parts guys isnt always the thing to do.The guys in Florida want about $25 for a filter, and Oreilly sold me one for about $6.00

Yep, it always pays to shop around to try to avoid the Corvette tax. I don't recall where I got mine, maybe Jegs.

The job was easier for me as I did it while I was installing headers, which cleared up a little working room. Best to do it when your tank is low on fuel, and make sure to relieve the pressure. Also everyone recommends using line wrenches to avoid rounding off the fittings.

I remove the filter and line and do the swap outside the car.

Oh, yea, release pressure... remove the cap and vent the pressure at the rail. you will need the plastic line tool to remove the fuel line from the rail.

What's this bogus? I just take the clip off at the regulator and pull the line out. Got a link to one of these things?

Yeah, it really is a pain in the ass job. I've changed the fuel filter once on my 86 and 95. I took my 95 to get a wheel alignment and they charged me $16 to install a fuel filter. Worth it IMO.
