Whent down to my buddy's to use his press and glass bead blaster.
Press out all the a-arm bushings, glass beaded the shaft and bearing surfaces, pressed in the new, correct ones.
I have to repaint the a-arms anyway, I used the wrong shade of black the first time.

This guy's glass bead cabinet's about 5 ft. long, huge.

I desparately want one. These vent grills and the clutch fork would have taken hours any other way.
The grills took 5 min. each.

It's nice when your friends have all the big expensive toys and let you play with them

How did you paint it the wrong shade of black...who's gonna notice? Is this NCRS?

And how do you tell the difference between semi-flat and semi-gloss?

Yea, I'm very envious of that glass bead cabinet,

When I shot the frame, I did the a-arms at the same time. I used GM Reconditioning Black (very nice stuff). Later, I found out that the a-arms should be gloss black, they are the only thing on the suspension that's gloss.

I'm building the car as close to the way it came from the factory as possible but I'm not real concerned with NCRS since I don't plan to have it judged.

And the origional frame paint on C2's was asphalt based which can get f___ked up just by getting gasoline on it.
I'm not going that route just for NCRS.

Besides, the car came with Off Road Exhaust and it now has sidepipes (which I'm keeping of course).

Damn if I know.
What's funny is I had a can of Krylon semi-gloss in the shop. I also picked up a can of the new Krylon Ultra Cover semi-gloss. I sprayed them side by side on some scrap sheet metal. There's a noticable difference in the amount of gloss.
I'll use both on the car since some parts on the car came from different sources that used different levels of semi-gloss (like the oil fill tube, relay covers,etc.).
