When I replaced my door regulators, look what I found

Photobucket

I've need seen individual wire hookups like that, not mate & lock, on a production car.

Electrical stuff in these cars is getting really old too. I have cracked several connectors and will need to replace them. Last year I replaced the passenger side window switch. That was about $75. I guess that was a cheap part.

Wow. I had a power door lock harness break. I replaced it with one from a junk yard for a couple of bucks.

That looks like someone took the time to fix the wiring, but not the harness. Seems a bit short sighted to me. It isn't OEM, I have a connector on my 92.

1st time YOU know about. Really... 20k miles is long enough for some hack to do damage.

A friend of mine bought a TransAm a few years back... it has 20k on it... and the trans AND rear end were blown out. Yea, 20k miles... 1/4 mile at a time.

To me it looks more like the up/down switch for the window. IIRC mine looks just like it.

Is there clear, rubber tubes (insulators) over each wire ?

IIRC, mine's like that.

I will have to pop it out... I don't remember what I mine looks like, but it is a connector. The wires don't come out individually.
