I have tried everything to get IE8 to remember my log on information here. I have set permissions for this site to use cookies in multiple places and still need to log in with both a user ID and password every time I close the browser. I never had this problem with Firefox but have been using IE more lately because I had some problems with Firefox last week.

You guys know the solution to this one?

Do you have Norton or any other password memory software?

I don't use Norton, I use Avast Antivirus security.

But there may be something else going on... thanks for the hunch. I'll check it out

Reload it. It should ask you to remember on initial run. If you checked the box that pops up one time it will not come back.

This may be different from what you're experiencing but, I thought I had a problem with IE8.

I get the login page everytime I come here from my favorites. But if I "Forums", I find I'm already logged in.

If I type B in the login, my name pops up. If I hit "login" without filling in the name, it says "Incorrect Login" but goes tight to my "View Account" screen.

IE8 views some passwords as cookies. Most people have their browsers set to delete cookies when the program is closed.

Simply edit your security settings not to delete cookies when closed, or even just for the sites you are having problems with.

Have you tried Firefox? I find it's a much better browser.

Done that... still doesn't work. I really know a lot about web stuff. I do development for a living. This is just bugging the piss out of me. I'll figure it out and it will be something so stupid!
