Yesterday afternoon my wife and I decided to escape the house and spend some time playing the slots at the nearest Indian casino. We typically take about $60 each and expect to lose it. We have a good time watching the machines do their different things, watching other people and getting a nice meal. Some times we even come out a few bucks ahead.
I have always wanted to own a 96 Grand Sport and told her that this is what I would splurge on if I ever hit the jackpot.
I had a good night and actually was about $250 up and was nearing our self imposed time limit. I got on this machine which I had never seen before. It was a penny machine that I was playing 30 lines on at 1 cent per line. All of a sudden I hit the bonus play which started feeding on itself and set off a string of about 10 minutes of more and more bonus plays and ended up drawing a crowd as the machine was going crazy with all kinds of flashing lights and noises. It eventually payed out the max for what I bet. It showed 45,000 credits and the lady next to me started yelling that I had just won $45,000.
My heart was racing, I was breathing hard and my dreams of purchasing something like this:

immediately jumped to dreams of this:
Resized Image

That ended when one of the guys standing next to me declared that 1 point equaled 1 cent so actually had only won $450. Hey, I'm happy with that! Just think what would have happened if I had been playing the max of $2.40 per spin instead of $.30 per spin. I would have won 8 times that (I think).
Now, this sounds like we are big casino fans but we actually only go a handful of times per year.
We will be in Vegas for Spring break in early April and I hear there are 3 casinos there that each have new C6 Z06s on display for the guests to win. I am going to give them a try at least! Wish me luck!

They, $450 ain't nothing to sneeze at!

As for the max spin/win, yes, I agree with your math... But even then, $450x8 is only $3600, so you weren't getting the GS!!!

We do the casino like you do... sparingly. I love black jack, but just can't find a rythym with the damned game.

Yea, all the new video machines are 1 cent. But the max bets are from $1.25 to $5.00 so, if you play the max, you can loose a boatload very fast.

I play them but like the old slots and video poker better.
Unfortunately for me, the casino is 4 minutes from the house.

Playin' 30-50 lines @ a penny ain't bad.

The people who freek me out are the ones playing the MegaBucks one dollar at a time. A 2 million dollar jackpot for a $2 bet and they're playing $1. If I did that and it hit, I'd shoot myself.

If you had played max limit your $60 would have been gone before your seat got warm. You would have been hanging at the coffee bar waiting for your wife. Still you walked away with money .... At least I hope you did.

Yep Tommy, the cash is tucked away in my savings account already.
From what I hear there ia a C6 Z06 in Vegas at the Sahara, the Luxor and Ceaser's Palace.
I tried to win this one at the Sahara in '06. You have to bet the max in order to win and I am embarrassed to say that I wasted about $200 chasing the dream. I am not usually that much of a sucker.
This time I am going to set a limit of 4 max bets on each car.
That is quite a marketing ploy to have that Daytona Sunset Orange Z set up there with the lights reflecting off that sexy paint and those chrome wheels. I'll bet it pays for itself every week or so. I wonder if anyone has actually won one?

Here is the Luxor Z:
Resized Image

I could not find pics of the Zs that currently are at the Sahara and Mandalay Bay (I was wrong about it being at Caesers Palace).
Wish me luck in April although I doubt that I will either win a Corvette, get to see Mike Tyson's tiger or get invited to my homie's (Floyd Mayweather's) house while I am there.
I actually got to treat Floyd Jr at my clinic a couple of years ago as he is from Grand Rapids, MI. They like him a lot here because he walks around handing out fist fulls of cash to needy families when he visits. I was quite amused to see that he has a bodyguard with him when he is out and about.

Ron, I'll root for you to get your GS somehow.

When I was at CES in January, New York New York had a Grand Sport one their floor. I was so busy, I didn't even do my traditional one pull.

That's why they call it gambling. If t was a sure thing they'd call it winning. They say the same thing about fishing. If you had a good catch every time you went out they'd call it catching.

That's a nice win regardless, Ron!

I remember pumping quarters into a machine for hours in Vegas a few years back trying to win an orange C5....apparently I didn't win.

I think I need to go to the casino now!

Great story, Ron - we'll be rooting for a few more zeros tacked on the end of your tally next time!
