A rather boring honk, but it should be loud and clear.

It should work with key on or off....

I have not done the rear brakes myself before and I know one time before I had an issue with the emergency brakes. On the late C4 1992-1996 what are the tricks to remvong the rotors?

According to the FSM, the E-Brake Adjuster has to be disabled at the handbrake... What a PITA. Is there an easier way to take tension off the e-brake cable without remvoing the seat and handbrake cover? What else is required.

Don,
I don't remove the ebrake cable. I remove the caliper pins/bolts, then the caliper (in one piece)then the braket bolts to remove the rotor....hope this helps

I don't mess with the e-brake either. It has been a few years but I remember just two bolts and sliding the caliber off.

I didn't have to do anything with the e-brake... besides making sure it was in the off position.

OK.. Well, so much for reading the FSM

Thanks... if I get time tonight I'll go pull one of the rears and see. I have just been arm chair planning; you know how that is... once I really see what I'm working with it will come into focus.

Cheers

If you have to just grab the ebrake cable at the caliper with pliers, pull and twist. It comes right off. Reminds me that I really should take the rest of the e-brake stuff off (cables, lever, etc) before I head to CMP in April.
