Here's a lap of T-Hill in a C5 using the bypass on the hill.

Bill's a former student of mine, very fast. He won the race on Sunday.

Yea, there tends to be a lot of different cars in a NASA race. Here's the race, the camera's in a Miata (but it has an LS1 in it ). Bill's in the silver C5.

Can you tell that they are going to be fast when you are teaching them?

Just curious: my laps around racecourses are at much slower speeds ...

The guys/gals that have the talent that shows up right away are at about 5% on my students ( the drivers who improve in a day with a good instructor are about 80%, the drivers that have a hard time are at about 15%). The instructor makes a big difference.

In Bill's case, he had only 2 HPDE events when he hired me for a private day. I knew after only 2 laps that he had talent, car control and followed instructions. He was fairly fast by the middle of the day. Mostly, his car control was above average.
I knew he was going to do well when he started racing.

ThunderHill has a very long straightaway so I'd guess 140.

Don't matter if the windshield is cracked, Bill Has an extra blue C5 with full cage, coilovers, etc.
