I know a lot of you have questions on how certain things function on this site. The current software is quite the "frankenstein" as it has lots of ported mods and features. The problem is that some of these features conflict with others and some of the features we all love are not even in it.

We have plans to have everything switched to a more stable and user friendly system within the next couple weeks. No one will be losing post counts and no posts will be lost.

So, with that said, we will not be doing much updated and fixing with the current software. I know some things are a PITA, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!!

Thanks,
C4guru Admin Team

Exactly what Brut said!

Keep an eye in this area for other updates as we get closer to the switch.

it's getting there.

More details as they become available!

The first pass at data conversion has been completed. Things are getting there... they really are!

Hmm I guess I should read here first before asking on the open forums. Kinda makes us look like amateurs.

Wait, we are amateurs.

I read that... and it's the #1 reason why we are not going to use vBulletin.

We are not going to be using phpBB, either. What we want Guru to become, the external modules are just not all that available.

What are your choices? There are plenty of custom modules available on phpBB from others that saw the need for something long before you did. Unless you're reinventing the wheel or something. Do tell. It's also possible to program yourself or pay someone else to make custom add ons, depending on the complexity.
