Why dirty up a pretty car like that when they could have just parked it in my garage.

If I was drivin' on dirt, I'd rather be in one of Sammy's cars.

All right, another sprint car fan on here. Not a big Sammy fan myself.
I was at Lernerville the night he hit the push truck never heard an uglier sound at the track.

That's freekin' brilliant, Ken.

I'm not a fan of any drivers really.
Grew up in Pa., you couldn't drive 5 miles without hitting a sprint track.

They edited the hell out of that vid but he's still only going 20mph in 1st gear the entire time. The rest looks like audio spliced in and the frame rate sped up when there wasn't a dust cloud in the shot to give it away.

Hell, when Ken posted this I thought it was going to be about when they let that idiot Tom Cruise drive one.

Bill, I'm an old time Western Pa guy. Used to make the annual run to William's Grove for the National Open when it really meant something.

As for the Sammy crash, it never should have happened. He had taken the checkers for qualifying and instead of pulling off, made an extra lap to see his time on the scoreboard. Radar said the rate of closure was 109. Downtubes were crushed clear back to the front cage tubes.

Gotta wreck a race car to get the first official lap in?

I worked Tech at the Dallas GP in 84.

This is gonna be a hoot!

The Grove was 45 min. from where I grew up.
In college (Williamsport), my roommate drove for Tobias Speed Shop (a 1/2 mile from WG). I crewed for him foa a year and got to run 5 hotlaps the car at the Grove.

Got back from College in Colorado and ran all the tracks in central Pa. & Maryland on 2 wheels.

well... the way things are going, it looks like F1 WILL be racing on dirt next year.

The parties need to get their stuff together... and Coulthard now has an unfair advantage - he drove the new course already!
