Really stupid, but I'm curious as to the physics of how this happened?

(Been in Amarillo, working, so I haven't posted in a while...)

Kinda' hard to tell for sure, but it looks like the C5 driver lost traction, overcorrected, and took himself and the C6 off the road to the left.

Stupid. Just stupid.

Ain't roadracing, just 2 fukin idiots trying to prove their macho.

Like I've always said, anyone can write a check/make payments, doesn't impress me.

How to handle a car is a learning experience, got nothin' to do with your wallet.

And it don't matter how many years you've driven on the freeways.

I have watched many crash vids of C5's getting sideways. I watched a guy in our group do the same thing, only with out the carnage. He's not an experienced performance driver and showboats frequently. In other words he gets himself into trouble and doesn't know how to recover. But his C5 will jump sideways with the traction control ON!

My guess is GM has a problem and the traction control is not working effectively. Or the tires are old and the t-cont is unable to compensate.

Whatever the case, think about it. Lots of C5 crash vids out there!

Well, Steve, the traction control isn't there to save people that do stupid shit.
In situations like these, it's always the driver, not the tires or the TC.

The cars have a lot of horsepower and drivers that have no idea how to control it.
A boatload of these could be handled without wrecking if the drivers had some instruction in how to drive a car like this.

I see it a lot at the track, people that have no concept on how to use the throttle, no idea on how to use the brakes (which is worse), no idea on how to steer the car.
All of which is situations they never get into on the street.......until just before the wreck happens.

He's doin' somethin wrong then.

I say this because I've been in roughly 50 C5's on the track and driven many, never had this problem.

And that includes C5's with automatics that like to downshift when you hit the gas in the middle of a corner.
