the drag strip @fontana has been closed by superior court due to so called noise violations . this is way sad as this is the only 1/4 mile strip in so cal please get on the california speed way site and send them an email .

I have a question. Was the drag strip there and people later populated the area? It's like complaining about the noise after moving by an airport. Legal battles of this sort often depend on the arguments presented and the numbers of people for and against. Unfortunately, in a democracy there are winners and losers. Just from a safety standpoint it makes more sense to keep the race track open. It gives a place for people to participate in an activity legally instead of taking it to the streets. The disposition of the judge can have a major impact on their decisions. If the judge is a tree hugging environmentalist he would be moved one way. If the judge is a sportsman/woman that understands the needs of the few to have an environment to safely practice their activity then that would sway the decision in another direction. The media centers are a great place to air dissent. Write, protest, scream to the rafters. Maybe occupy someplace. ...... Maybe not.

The police and politicans are on TV there all the time complaining about all the illegal street racing going on in SoCal.... They really have no clue. Pretty soon if you want to race in SoCal, your gonna have to head down to 135th and Main in Compton. Will |

Fontana is in the middle of an old industrial park. Who lives close enough to give a shit?
The closest houses are still 1/2 mile away, on the otherside of commercial buildings. |

guys if you want to sign the petition go to corvette forum and go to the so cal section and there is a link there on the 4th post. we need all of you to sign it to stop these idiots from wrecking another place to enjoy our hobby . and keep street racing in that area down .
