1994 LT1 I just found the right engine head number when I was changing the coil which is mounted on the front of the head. The head number is stamped on the front of the head. Does the head number match up with the VIN, or is it unrelated. Just wondering..
Thanks |

Not sure about any " stamped" numbers on the heads but the block pad above the water pump usually has a partial VIN stamped which identifies the original vehicle the engine was fitted to

and that moves around... it might be there, or on a pad near the oil filter... flip a coin on that one.
There are no "matching" numbers for heads... and in the world of C4s, no one really gives a rot. |

I easily located the numbers on the engine block, same location as in your picture, but I have aluminum heads and the numbers are stamped in front on the head just above the numbers on the block pad. The block numbers do not partialy match up to VIN so I have to assume it is a replaemnet motor..

don't make that assessment... you really need to check the numbers down by the oil filter housing. I will check my old block and give you an exact location.

The numbers on the head are 26332
The numbers on the engine block pad are V0924WHF which my understanding is the 0924 means Sept,24 and the WHF is the designation for a 350 c.i. 275 h.p. TPI-F The last seven on the VIN are 5107979 I am going to try and find numbers by the oil filter today. |
