I worry when words are specifically singled out.

I have to agree Andy. It's like getting all bent because someone calls someone else a fart whiffer.

Oh I'm offended now. My boss got really pissed off and called a fart whiffer. I wonder what that would be worth in court? My guess would be around fiddy cent. You can go on and on about the history of a word and a variation of a word, and who can use a word and who can't. It's all major league . Although the c word (c~%+) can rile a lot of women up. It all boils down to how a word said. Emphasis on certain letters can accentuate the meaning. Ahh, words. You gotta love em.

I really have to watch myself at work - I probably work in the most UN-PC place there is, and I'm the only woman amongst five guys. Ain't a day goes by and a few words aren't tossed around by all of us. I've tried to make it a point lately to straighten myself up but it's hard being around them ... and yes, even that C-word crops out - depends on who pisses us off ...
strange tho - I was raised somewhat racist my grandfolks were - just how things were here - and with the media/politics/etc making things they way they are now, it's really hard not to be that way again... some things just sort of bring it out of you whether you like to admit it or not.
