Don't have an answer, but do have a curiosity question. Is that plumbers tape holding the valve cover breather down?

it's not.

No EGR.

The super ram was made by Accel/Edelbrock/Lingenfelter.

And that looks like a piece of metal strap, screwed into the valve cover.

ebay is dead... nothing there.

Edelbrock makes something...

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/edl ... /chevrolet/model/corvette

and...

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/edl-3865/overview/

problem solved.

Much nicer than stock. Get the inside of your plenum cleaned up and you're done.

I just got back from the drags and showed the picture to edlebroch booth. The first words were what the hell is that. They sent an email on my phone asking for testing and stats on air flow and a few other question.

Wonder if he will answer. I told them I would forward the reply.

Funny

ok... you picked the only three parts in the world that don't mix.

The 7138 is complete, but without EGR.

And CARB frowns upon relocating this crap... I know, annoying.

The parts I listed would work and all have CARB OE numbers. That's where you get into trouble.

The EGR relo kit is designed to go with the TPiS intake.

But that EGR relo won't work... and you won't need the runners with that intake. It is designed to be used with this intake:

http://www.tpis.com/parts/view/33

The mini-ram... expensive cuss, tho.

As expected, the EGR isn't CARB legal, but, if it's there, I doubt many sniffers will give a damn.

personally, I think the mini ram with an EGR would pass... you just need a friendly smog guy to ignore the hardware and accept the numbers.

Well I have the smog guy. He is as old as me so I guess I would just have to keep my old stuff.

Thanks Mat after seeing what TPIS charges to make a custom chip I got a hell of a deal from PCM of NC.

" TPIS offer custom programmed chips for 85-93 Corvette, Camaro, Firebird, and street rod applications using the Tuned Port or LT1 system. We also custom program the GM flash ECM for the 94-97 LT1, and the entire LS1 and LS2 based formats from 97-08. For the flash computers you must send your computer to us for recalibration, but for the early chipped computers we just send out a new chip. We can configure a program that will run a stock engine with emissions and vehicle anti-theft deleted for a street rod application all the way to a fully customized program to control a 500+ horsepower drag race engine. Just call us with your specs. Pricing is as follows.

Level 1: Stock tune with VATS and emissions delete for street rod ............$175.00
Level 2: Perf. tune for stock engine (can include Level 1 mods) ..................$275.00
Level 3: Lots of bolt-ons, throttle body, exhaust, etc. ......................................$375.00
Level 4: Aftermarket intake, MiniRam, cam, & all bolt-ons ............................$475.00
Level 5: Larger engines, cam & heads,forced induction ...............................$575.00"

Thanks guys good discussion .

Before my superram I had an edelbrock big mouth base and slp runners. Both carb legal. With my porting my car topped out around 5400 rpms. I was happy with what it was, but not as happy as the superram.

The superram on cf right now was extrude honed and I think he wants 1355 plus shipping with injectors and TB. Not a bad price.

Keep an eye on TGO as well, that is where I found mine.

Granted but plenty have used it for a retrofit on other than a MR.
All you need is a flat surface on the plenum somewhere large enough to mount the base

There are plenty of compact OEM valves that could be remote mounted so only a line to a port threaded into the plenum would be required.
The options are limitless

that first system is a full on EFI, and it's not legal... no aftermarket system is, as I understand it.

If it's CA legal, it will have an EO number.

To me it seems like you are trying to reinvent the wheel. You know there are two CARB legal intake systems - the edelbrock base (which apparently since it's a "replacement" item doesn't need an EO) along with SLP runners (have EO) and the superram. So why not focus on those?
