we just put a motor in a 89 firebird . started just fine . ran it for a little while turned it off to ck for leaks . then went to start it and poof nothing . turns over but no spark . wtf what do I ck for . it is a 350 .please help it is a xmas present for a buddys grandson

How did you verify no spark? No spark at the plug?

I don't recall but I think the firebird might have a remote coil setup?

This is the basic troubleshooting chart for a Corvette, should be close:

if it has an external coil, make sure the leads are clean and good.

make sure the fuel pump cycles upon turning the ignition on / but before you crank the engine.

test for spark by pulling a plug wire and putting a spark plug into the plug wire and setting the end of the plug onto steel so it is grounded
