I'm tossing over the idea of a small in-dash navigation/LCD screen. I'm just wondering if anyone has installed any double-din style units or flat screens in there 84-90 C4.

Pictures would be very helpful.... just looking for ideas at this point,
DG

the 90 dash is different, and will take a double DIN unit.

With the 84-89, I don't know how you will do it. I would consider doing something where the bread basket is.

The climate control unit would need to be relocated, or the DIC needs to be relocated.... I am not sure what the best options are.

It would be a very tight squeeze to fit something in place of the breadbox. The flat panel to replace the breadbox does not seem to have much strength, so you would be also building something to house the unit there. Another option is to go with a single DIN navigation unit. I looked at this one: http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produc ... p;i=105KDNX500&tp=144 but then decided that I didn't need nav in my Vette. I have nav in my Charger, which is my everyday car.

Double din is going to be a tough fit, but single din fits easy.

Whats annoying is that the radio space is almost.... double din; but not quite. I am surprised no one has anything custom

Double-din

*edit* - here's a good thread on a double-din install:

I have no idea what double din means. But I thought this'd be a great chance to raise my post count by one.....

LMAO! That's when you have twice as much din as usual.
