I've got a sound coming for my '95 LT1 with 103k. The trans and clutch do not change the noise and none of the rockers are loose. It sounds like it coming from inside the motor with the valve covers off. You can hear in the vid that it ticks once every two seconds. So do you think could be rotating that slow or could a bad lifter be the cause?

Sorry, but I can't think of ANYTHING in your lt1 that rotates every 2 or 3 seconds at 750 (+/-) rpm.

I listened quite a few times....it puzzles me.

The only possible conclusion I came to was either a possible Knock issue OR a Vacuum 'build up' issue, causing something or other mechanical to 'trip'? Sorry I can't think of anything else right now.

How's it running? And are you throwing any codes?

No codes and it is running fine just the tick. I did get some LS7 lifters to replace the old stock ones. So I'll have to look around after I get the intake off.

Usually I'll take it out to some back country open roads and give it something to tick about.

That started the ticking.

I was going to suggest maybe a relay or solenoid going haywire, but it sounds like a pretty heavy tick, almost metallic.

Does it speed up at all when you rev the motor? If not, you can be assured it's not a rotating part.

Yes it does increase with the RPMs. I went over the motor with a stethoscope and it sounds loudest around the center bolts on the drivers side intake and valve cover.
