Well good morning CG's!

Happy Friday to everyone!

How is everyone doing this morning? Should be a warm day here, but the news is calling for rain later.

Nothing on my plate today. I think I'm gonna clean up the basement a little. I'm back to work tonight, so my day is cut up a little due to my nap later.

An interesting article was online today about gas prices. Said the most expensive place for gas was $18.42 in Sierra Leone and the cheapest was 12 cents in Venezuala The article did note that this doesn't take into account fluctuations due to the value of currency, etc...

Interesting to say the least.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Matthew

ps Tommy - where did the new trivia tag come from? Did I miss trivia last night?

Good Morning Gurus!

On Monday and Tuesday, it was nearly 80 degrees in Colorado Springs. It snowed yesterday... Slight warming trend today and into the weekend.

Unrelated to that:

I've been a bass player on and off since about '81. Never really cared about becoming good at playing anything else, but I have owned electric guitars off and on over the years. I usually end up selling them because I do not play them enough.

The last one, I gave to my daughter, so it is still in the house, but it is "hers", and she is going to be taking lessons soon.

I've been laying down lead guitar riffs on the "album" that my friend and I are creating, so I have been using his guitar, and my daughters, but I got the bug to purchase another guitar, so I bought one on ebay the other day. Transfered funds to the seller today. Waiting on shipping. Hurry, hurry, hurry....

Nothing special at all, really. A Korean made Fender Stratocaster. It has a different configuration as far as pickups and neck than the usual Strat though, and that's why it interested me. I won't bore you with any more details. I hope it is as nice as it was described. Fingers crossed.

Looks like this one. Resized Image
I may ante up for an American Strat in the fall. I like to spend money on things I don't need...

Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

Re; Trivia tag

That was just a trigger for trivia. It was Thursday night.

Got the dogs tags today and had to get a repacement battery for the 99 Yukon. Yesterday had the boats gas tank purged. Had a few gallons of water in the tank. Now she doesn't want to start. Going to get my right rear muffler clamp for the 90 Vette in a few minutes. Plenty of things to do. Never a dull day. Back to work tomorrow. It was nice to be off for two weeks, while it lasted.

It is cool that someone is making guitars with USB outputs. Too bad they seem to be low quality instruments. Hopefully the market takes off, and larger brands invest in the idea.

I have a Mac G4 Powerbook laptop with Garageband software, and the Mac has a mini phono input. So I just plug the amp cord into an adapter, then directly into the computer. So I am basically doing the same thing at home as these guys are. Although I gotta say, our stuff sounds a little better. We just need someone who can sing.

My buddy wrote all the songs we've recorded so far, and he is singing them right now. But ideally, we do need a better voice. Maybe someday I will be brave enough to post one or two of our songs up for everyone to listen to.
