Good morning CGs!

Well TGIF, huh? Not for me yet. Two more nights and then I'm off for a couple.

Enjoyed the car show last night. It was a huge turnout and saw quite a few vettes. I was laughing at one, though. An old, old, old, old (did I mention old?) guy had about a 64 convertible. From 20 feet it looked ok, but you got up close and could see where 40 years of negelect had set in. Paint was trashed (and poorly touched up...looks like he used a paint brush) and to top it off he used construction adhesive to reattach the hood emblem...lol. Still, I'm sure he enjoys driving it. I'd love to "save" it, though.

Anyone have big plans for the weekend?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

NICE! Good to hear you had fun. I plan on BBQing this weekend and haveing some watermellon! Other than that a few touch ups to the arcade, wash the bike, mow the lawn, clean house, pick up some trash in the yard and then I have to work on Sunday.

I started taking apart the interior to put in some sound deadening, but didn't get very far - too hot and humid last night. Should think about air conditioning for the garage....

Good morning all... Looks like its gonna be a good day in the Nation's Capitol if we can keep the politicians from talking.

Our Corvette Club is cruising down to Broomes Island, Maryland for crabs and food tomorow. If anyone is in the area and wants to join us, let me know. Some will be meeting in Gaithersburg, MD and then will be regrouping near my house in Dunkirk, MD.

Your story of the old guy with the '64 Vette reminds me of a guy in our club that has a '65 convertible with a hartop. He uses the '65 for racing only so he can get away with the condition. It has body damage on one of the rear quarter panels and the paint is chalked out totally with some fiberglass weave showing in some areas. The car is a true survivor except for the engine, trans and rear end. Its not fast, but it is consistent around 13.50s in the 1/4 mile. I like the car just as it looks. Kind of gives it some real character.

What deadening are you using. I was considering getting that precut c4 kit from cowboy something or other on CF. It's supposed to be a decent kit fo the $$. I'm gonna wait til I redo my carpet, though - maybe next year?

I found a good deal on some Xtreme Dynamat on amazon.com a while back, so I'm giving that a shot. However, I just saw this article yesterday:
