Well sent mine in to get repaired so I find out how much it will be tomorrow. Actually its more like I sent it in for proof that I need a new laptop. If the bill comes in over 300 which I am 99% sure it will, then I am getting a newer one. I already started the search and decided on a Dell XPS. They come with the Top of the line screen WUXGA and dual core processors. I got a offer in for one at 851 and hopefully he will bite on it. Cant afford much more than that. I am pretty picky about it...I want a 17 inch screen, 2.0 GHZ processor (dual core) or better, 256 Graphics card, wireless net, intergrated webcam, 100 GIG Hard Drive or better, and at least 2 GIGs of ram.

I bought my wife a Gateway this weekend:

We wanted a smaller one, so this seemed to fit the bill for what she needs, and had plenty of memory and disk.

Vista should have pleanty of room. I am going to be playing alot of games like FAR CRY and such. So its got to handle the task with the graphics, memory, ram and processors. This will be my deployable laptop as well for next time I go to the sand box.

Wow, comes with acrobat reader? That's crazy expensive.

I would opt for the best battery option they have. The advertised times are based on leaving the computer on. Actually using it, or watching a video, it'll die much faster.

you know that acrobat reader is a rare program.

Not too worried about the battery right now. If I deploy I am going to get the better one then. Thanks for the tip though.
