I got a ride in a Mustang a few years back. I'll always cherish that 30 minutes.

Inside: very noisy, rough. Its hard to believe that the aviators of the time spent countless hours at the controls. Understandably I know now why most of the aircrewman of the day are now deaf.
Outside: they sound (and look) fabulous.

Enjoy the ride and make sure some gets a pic of you in the air!

A friend of mine here was a Corsair (Vaught 4F-U) pilot during WWII in the Pacific... It had to be an experience of a lifetime...

A ride in a Mustang... dude, that had to be BAD to the BONE! I can't imagine. Noisy and rough? Yes... that V12 was hard mounted to the airframe!!! no rubber bushings... like a big fat Harley motor from hell. And for some reason, I don't think machine balancing work was all that precice back then.

Wow, I'd rather ride in a Mustang than one on the bombers.
And I'd rather ride in one of the air race ones, the Mustangs had something like 1500 HP, the race ones are bumped to 3,000.

So did you go for a ride? How was it.

I got to go for a ride in a USCG helicopter once....thought it was the coolest thing. I'd love to take a ride in an old fighter jet.

The rides booked up too fast for us to get on

Still, glad I went.
I got some nice videos of the P51 landing and taking off, as well as lots of stills.

The vet talking about the ball B-17's ball turrent actually serve in one during WWII.
