I'm back in town for some meetings, what's a good place for a steak? I'm on the south side, near Irvine. Not quite as nice as Long Beach (where I stayed in February), but what can you do?

When I say steak, by the way, I mean a top o'the line piece of cow. Something that will make Ruth's Chris feel sheepish.

Hmm, I don't eat at those type of places. Usually when I'm up there I'm getting a free lunch from fellow forum members.

Ask jhammons, he's local.

Fixed it for ya!

Good bit of editing.

Irvine... there is a Brazillian Churrascaria there... lemme think... Agora. I don't think you will be disappointed.

There is another chain called Flemings... pricy but excellent. There is one near us in El Segundo, and others down in Newport and San Diego.

What is your schedule???

Good steak houses are real hard to find. Plenty of expensive ones but nothing impressive.
Good luck.

Now we're talking.

I was treated to the same on my birthday in San Diego, "Rei Do Gado".

A meat lovers paradise. I think it qualifies as a near death experience because I was in the afterlife for about an hour and a half in there.

They walk around all night with giant slabs of meat and cut off pieces for you.

Excellent...

We have a Flemings about a mile from my house, so I'm going to skip that. It's a bit stuffy, too.

I was recommended a place called Maestro's, maybe I'll check that out. However, I love those churrasco places, I'll look into that before making a final decision. I also think I should eat on the water since I live on the inland, but I'm not in the mood for seafood...

I guess I could have worse problems.

I'd offer to buy some of you schmucks a beer but I probably have to entertain the customer. If I can slip away later, maybe.

Man beats teen over who was 1st at McDonald's
L.A. police search for suspect in attack, which was caught on video
updated 10:00 a.m. CT, Wed., Oct. 1, 2008

LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles police are looking for a man who beat up a 16-year-old girl at a McDonald's counter after she complained about him cutting in line.

Police announced their investigation Tuesday night and posted surveillance video online.

Police say the girl, her 5-year-old niece and a friend were standing in line on Sept. 14 at the McDonald's in South Los Angeles. The suspect and two young boys then approached the counter when the 16-year-old started arguing with the man over who was first in line.

Police say the girl swore at the man, who then got angry and punched her in the face several times.

The suspect left with the boys in a red pickup truck.

The teenager was treated for her injuries at a hospital and released.

I don't think she ordered the McPunch.

One of my favorite movies:

Dimpus Burger Guy (Charlie Finn): "Do you want to Dimpisize your meal for a quarter more?"
Farva: "Want me to punchisize your face for free?"

He should be submitted for the "father of the year" award.

The saddest part is he's not allowed back to work at McDonald's anymore.
