10-2-08....I got a call at 11:30, Someone was looking at my 89 where it was on consignment.. Answered questions for him and he would call back
He called 10 min later, said my 89 was smoking bad and was asking what was wrong. it was lunch for me and I was close so I drove over to the dealer.. looks like something was on the top of the lower boot of the Trans, I thought trans oil but might have been from the detailer.. it was nothing like the guy thought.. Took him for a drive, first time I drove the car since April (and Last).. Gave it a good blast down the the road then he drove it.. We came back to the dealership, we negotiated and I sold it. I bought he car on 9-14-93 and sold it just over 15 years later, I cannot believe I owned that 89 for 15 years. The new owner is not the computer forum type, so not sure if i will see the car again, which might be a good thing. none-the less Here is to my 89    But on the flip side.. In July of 2007 I bought my 90 ZR-1 as the replacement and new project |

Congratulations! Kind of a bittersweet day. I've seen it online for sale and I know it's been up for a while. You put so much work into that car to customize it! I'm glad for you it's gone, and maybe we'll see the new owner around once in a while.

Congrats. They say the best two days of ownership are the day you buy it and the day you sell it. I can attest to that after trying to sell my truck for almost a year.
I sold my first motorcycle a few months ago, and I figured I'd miss it, so the buyer let me go for one last ride which also helped him in transporting it. I'll have another truck going up for sale here as soon as I get off my lazy ass. |

Jeff - mixed emotions on selling the 89. Congrats for moving it, but it must still feel odd. |

Not really, it has been on my friend's lot since April.. so I really don't miss it.. I have been driving the Z all year anyway.. when I drove the 89 on Thursday, I realized that car was purpose built as a quick street/strip car. my ZR-1 being stock has the same power and is much more refined. I would say I must be getting old, but if I say that then I should have bought a C5.. |

My girlfriend I was drooling over you car for a few months... I saw it on C4. We had just got out of our 89; for not much more we could have stolen yours... but she wanted something a little more current. Someone got a REAL DEAL! As cool as your old C4 was though, The ZR1 is def. the coolest!
Good luck with it, Dan |
