They want people to protest the toll hikes, by leaving their transponders home and pay the toll in pennies! |

I go up through WV several times a year and used to pay my tolls in rolled pennies I'd saved. They don't take them anymore, they don't have to. I read once that no one is required by law to accept more than 25 cents of a debt in pennies. So this protest will probably go nowhere.

How about protesting by taking non-tolled roads? So what if you have to drive further or use more gas. You can stand up and be counted. Or you can use a park and ride. That'll show them.

Tolls are a barrier to free 'trade'.
Read up on NAFTA, and GATT. Then hire a Libertarian attorney to take it to the bench. It's full of loopholes. |
