A friend of mine sent me this - LMAO!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2SLd854SHU

Which inspired me to take a whack at recording it using the setup I've been working on on my new keyboard - still needs a few tweaks. One of my favorite old tunes:

Your version is really nice! I've always liked that song, I bought the 45 (and still have it) when the song was first released many years ago.

Pianoguy - What settings did you have for the keyboard? It sounds like a cross between a guitar and a harpsichord!

The guitar part is a combination of a 6-string and a 12-string guitar voice - it sounds OK in the lower registers but gets kind of harpsichord-y up higher. I've never been particularly satisfied with guitar voices on any keyboard, but I figured I'd give it a whirl.

I agree.

Acoustic guitar sounds best when mic'd independantly. I really don't like the sound of the internal pickups.

Thanks much! If you're looking for something to jam over, a friend of mine at the collaboration site I hang out at put up a fun track last weekend - just bass, rhythm and drums, and I added a little organ. Here's the track after somebody threw a lead on it:

and here's the track without the lead guitar:

First chance I got to look at this. Very interesting youtube video, but Brad I'm always impressed when I hear your stuff. I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket let alone play an instrument like you (but I was in the school band in 7th grade, does that count ). Keep 'em coming.
