I have had a busy day at my daughters house. Building walls, so the plumber could finish up, doing some electrical stuff, so when we moved the washer/dryer they would be functional. It's hot out in that room but coming down out of the attic it felt like it was air conditioned in comparison. The plumber did get everything done and we moved the washer/dryer over and hooked them up, worked like a charm. I have a couple more trips up in the attic tomorrow before I will be done. I then have to frame up a pocket door.

That's looking really good Bill. 4000 heck you've just got that new gun barely broken in, you'll have to do the rest of the house to make buying that gun worthwhile.

What? You get all your stuff on one trip? Usually takes me 3.

Measure 3 times, cut once.
Bitch at myself the whole way back to Lowes for another piece of wood.

Bill, I guess what I should have said was 'I hope I have picked up all the supplies....' :booty: I tend to over buy, then return stuff, but sometimes I have to make a return trip for something I forgot.

Morning guys, Brad I'm pretty sure that DRM will be able to figure out the issues. We are headed to KC here in a little bit. Going to work at the daughters house a little sheetrock work and a little electrical work. Taking the two younger grandsons with us. I need to go finish loading the pickup. Later. Chris, did you get the injectors installed yesterday?

Getting a late start here guys...actually I've been going since 7am. Worked out in the shop, change oil in Daughter's van. Now just trying to decide if we want to take the car or the pickup this weekend...looks like we'll be taking the pickup. I am headed down to my cave to work on a computer. Tommy, I hope a year from now I can be where you are...not knowing or caring about what day it is.....

Just as tough on the parents, Chris. You want to give them their space, but, I still worried. Like the wife and I say "When they are out of the house, it's out of site-out of mind, but when they are home you worry like crazy."

This plane was in Garden City (KS) a couple years back. I spent $10 just to climb aboard and look around. At that time they were offering half hour rides for $250 (IIRC).

My Dad was a radioman/side gunner during WWII in a B26 Marauder. He flew 32 missions mostly over Italy, Belgium and in North Africa. I miss my dad.....

They do grow up fast. Chris, you do get used to them not being around all the time. Epimax, I'm at that stage too...only it's my 2 year old granddaughter who has move to the "big girl bed". Time flies, and it's just about time for me to think about going back to school. Man, where did this summer go?

Sounds about as exciting as mine. We went out to the county fair and walked around and I spent some time looking at embroidery machines for the wife. Today wife is working all day and I will have the grandsons. Supposed to be warmer, mid 90's, but the humidity has come back to more normal levels (25-30). I have a couple things to be working on in the shop and I need to start gathering a few tools to take this weekend to KC.

Guys showed up with our refrig, which we have been without for over two weeks. I got it all hooked back up and it's running, we will put stuff back in it later. Been to the chiropractor and my back feels much better. After feeling me up, he told me exactly what my symptoms were, gave me an adjustment and sent me out.

Bill, I'm not sure I could afford to play there, not that I wouldn't like to.

The golf wasn't that good last night for me, only shot -2, no where near good enough to finish in the money. Oh well, the food was good. I darn sure tweaked my back last night , this morning I can hardly move or breath....Brad I think this is your fault, sympathy pains....I'll go see the chiropractor later. Not much on my agenda today, wife is supposed to be off, but she has a meeting that she must go to, so I am here with the boys again.

Plenty of other little crap to do. Business is slowing down a little. Don't know if folks are concentrating on Back To School or what. Hopefully it picks up again soon.

Hoping to order plugs and wires, maybe a fuel pump for Ruby.

Happy Monday! (oxymoron)

Chris, are you having problems with the fuel pump? If so last fall when I was having trouble with my 94, someone suggested that I replace mine (thinking that was my problem) but the new one put out the exact same pressure as the old one. So anyway I have a good fuel pump if you need it.

Morning, I'd agree with you Brad, that was quite a feat for Tom, too bad he couldn't put it away.

We had our local car show yesterday, we had a pretty good turn out. There were 39 entries. We had a 56, 84, 86, 95 and my 01 Corvettes. Not bad for a town of 2300 in the middle of nowhere. I'll post some pictures later once I get them downloaded and on my photobucket account. We didn't win anything, but then I never expect to. Some of the other cars that were there were Model As, restored 55 Chevy, new Camaro SS and Challenger SRT8, 68 and 69 Camaros and customized 51 Merc, 70 Mustang Mach 1, Ford Skyliner, SSr and a PT "Bruiser". All in all it was a good day.

Tommy, Happy Birthday.......1955, same year as me.

Local Lions Club car show today. The Corvette is ready. I don't expect to win anything, but it's for a good cause. Wife is out of town, to a bridal shower for her niece, so I am at it alone today. I hope everyone has a great day.

Well, the parade went on and the "beauty" that I had was a 5 year old girl. She was cute as a button. The weather cleared enough for me to pull the top and set her on the B pillar...on a large microfiber towel. She rode up there real well. When we got to the end, she decided to slide down the window and try to get off the back...scratched the hell out of the bumper......uuuuughhh. My fault for not specifically telling her I'd help her down. Got most of it buffed out.

Went to watch my oldest grandson play baseball...double elim tourny and all they had to do to go to state was win the first game....they made it interesting, but they did win.

Well, the car show last night was postponed because of rain. The parade this morning....been raining since 6 am (maybe earlier, that's when I woke up and heard it), so who knows if the parade is still on. If it is, I darn sure am putting the top back on. Unlike others, I will drive mine in the rain. Thundering as I write this. Supposed to be our Lions Club car show tomorrow, but rain is in the forecast. So my weekend plans have been put up in the air.

That's a serious fence Tommy, nice neighborhood?

Jim, sounds like a fun trip...enjoy.

Busting concrete...huummmm, I would just cal a friend with a backhoe and take it out that way....but then, that's one of the perks for living in a farming region and small community.

It's been a pretty enjoyable morning here, not too hot yet.

Morning guys...sounds like we are starting out a little better today. Garage doors can be a real PITA. Chris, I wished that I'd known that you were interested in injectors. I had a set from Jon that I took out when I traded the 94 and sold them for $125 (they had about 4000 miles on them at most). They are a pretty easy job to change.

I have a few things to finish up today, finish up the cabinet doors I built yesterday and make a couple more today for someone else. I have a emergency preparedness meeting tonight, my wife is the county emergency preparedness director and I am a member by default, because my wife likes the help. Tomorrow we have a local monthly car show to benifit the Emmaus House a homeless/poor shelter in the "City". Saturday is our summer, county fair parade, which I am driving with a "beauty", and then Sunday is our local Lions club car show so this weekend is going to be full.

Brad, glad you're making progress, you'll get it figured out. What injectors did you put in? Tommy, you can't always be wrong. Bill, that's the way to do it. The best way is to build it yourself...looking good there and you'll be much more happy with the results.

We had a nice supper with the grandson(s) and a small party for his birthday, then we came home. We were both tired and went to bed fairly early. Today I am building cabinet doors, hopefully it won't be too hot, my shop gets almost unbearable in the afternoon, I may have to look into AC for it.

About twenty years ago we had a 2.9 quake right here in SW Kansas. Apparently there is a fault that runs just west of town and then off to the north. It was quite the experience. As far as tornadoes, I don't think any more about them than I do earthquakes.

We had men's night last night, hot and humid, golf wasn't that good. But I had a good time with the guys I golfed with and the burgers and food were excellent.

Today is my middle grandsons 8th birthday. He wants to go to IHOP tonight to eat, so we will take them out for that.

Our 4 year old refrig crapped out, it's under warranty, but I had to haul it over to the "city" for repair. It's not fun moving these huge refriges, I'm paying them to bring it back.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning, I have some work to do. I have some cabinet doors to build this week. The wife works Tuesday and Thursday, so she'll be around to help watch the grandsons, maybe I'll get those done in good time.

I washed and waxed the wife's Bonneville yesterday. Then I took the Vette out and we went to the "city" to do a little shopping and go to church. After that we went to see a movie, hadn't been to a movie in a long time. Then came on home. Today it's wash the Vette...dang if it didn't sprinkle on us while we were there, and maybe give it a coat of my new wax.

I made it home yesterday afternoon. I got everything done that I could until they get the electrical and plumbing done. It was nice to sleep in my own bed last night. I need to wash the wife's car and catch up on some things that have gone to h3ll while I was gone. Maybe the wife and I will go see a movie.

Morning,I got everything done yesterday, that I had planned...walls up, siding on. But then while eating last night my daughter throws "Let's go ahead and change the windows" at me. I had already found that Lowes had direct replacements, so after eating we ran to Lowes and got what we needed and at dark I finished getting them put in, but I have to go back this morning and finsh up trimming them out...on the outside. So, I'll not get as early a start for home as I had hoped.

Matt, thank goodness you were lucky, that thng could have killed you. Brad, sure hope you can figure out your issues, that has to be frustrating. Never been rock climbing...in a jeep, but I have watched them on TV, it looks like fun...have a good time.

You all have a great day.

Well, this is, hopefully, my last day on this project for a while. I have to build the interior walls and take some siding down and then put new up. I am anxious to get back home, there is lots for me to catch up on.

Got a lot to do, so I catch you all later.

Tommy Congrats on the milestone, ours is the 9th of August (34 years coming up, we got married young)

Bill you are right, the first row is the most important one. Once you get it going, it will go pretty fast.

Barter? Hell I just work for free! I got the concrete blocks laid, and the wall torn out this morning. I am sopped to the gills again, this humidity could kill a guy and it's supposed to be even hotter this afternoon. Brad, How did the golf go last night, is that what tweaked your back? Matt, I'd probably take the part back, you never know if you'll need it. Tommy, stay out of the heat as much as possible, it's a killer and be careful with the mail lady...she's a federal employee..

Bill, I'm like you, I'd like to have more garage space. But this daughters' house is pretty small and they are expecting again (#2), so they need the space, and they never used the garage for their cars anyway.

I finished up the decking and got the wall built to enclose the garage door. And I am pooped. Had to replace the header as it had some rot.

And with all the decking on.

That wall with the pink insulation comes down tomorrow and then I start laying out and building the new walls.

Afternoon guys. I have been working my butt off, and in this humidity I bet I've lost 10 lbs...today. The sweat just pours out of me. T-shirt and shorts are soaking wet. I am working alone today as the SIL is working today...that's OK I seem to get just as much done...maybe more, because I'm not explaining to him what I am doing.

I got all the floor joists in and the first four pieces of decking (3/4" T-G Wafer wood). Kind of at a stand still until SIL gets here, he left without leaving the screws for the decking, and I have run out with what I had here. I'll try to post some pictures later of this project.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Matt, I sure hope your problem is a simple fix, but I know how it is...never the simple or cheap fix.

I got some done yesterday on the garage project. As usual there were some problems that we did not account for. Like rotted sill plate, and some rot on the header, so we had to back track some to replace those items. And now we are talking about replacing the windows as well, which, if we are going to do it, now is the time.

Everyone have a great day.

Morning Matt, we went to the daughters house and ate BBQd ribs and chicken. Watched some fireworks and came back to the other daughters house and went to bed. Not real exciting but it was a good time. The grandkids had a good time. Today the wife, third daughter and grandsons head back home, while I stay to work on the garage conversion. This should prove to be fun...heat and humidity and working by myself each morning.

Happy 4th guys... and gals. We went to the Royals game last night, they got beat, but the grandkids had a great time and the fireworks were great. Today SIL is BBQing and two of the daughters ran in a 5k. They were back home before I got out of bed good for them. Will head down to a pancake feed to feed the grandkids and then to the big parade, usually 20 or so Corvettes.

Tommy, you mean I can't do that? Bill a cruise to the lake sounds like a fun time. Matt, sorry you have to work. Have a great day!

Bill, personally I like the variation of oak, I think that's what gives it character. Most people don't see it that way though. Will you face nail that row then?

Chris, I haven't been to Cripple Creek in years, I'm not a huge gambler, but the in-laws like to go up and drop a few pennys every so often. We have gone up with them a few times to CC but most of the time they like to go "visit the indians" north of Topeka, it is considerably closer for them.

They have done a multi-million dollar renovation and it's better yet. It is a beautiful stadium.
