i got to drive it with the tune for my old setup and injectors and it wasn't that bad at all but i think the maf was picking up the pace for the tune. it would be wayyy better off in a stalled auto cause for now it seems surge quite a bit on the bottom when going under 10mph but the power instantly poors in and its almost too aggressive. the reason its so big is to bleed of the compression ratio for pump gas. but even when its not running right it still pulls like a freight train. it is probably more then you would want to go if you actually needed to drive the car.

i would go with something with more lift then the cam you are talking about.. i had the xfi cam that josh has in my lt4 and it did a 8.19@90 with a 1.96 60ft in the 1/8th with shorties,4.10's and a mail order tune. i think that cam would be better with a different lsa. my current 385 has a bit larger 245/253 with .612/.612 on a 107 lsa but i dont think you'll want something that large of a duration.

shifts on a 94+ are based off of mph for the most part. there could be something wrong with your line pressure setting.

hows your oil pressure? if you are loosing a bearing that will let you know. what fuel do you put in it? just because its got new parts on it doesn't always mean they weren't crap to start with.. it happens to the best of them. fuel pressure?

you could get an lc1 for about $200. if a tune is already in order that is where i would start. i will not drive mine without it being better tuned. i got way too much into it. machine work isn't as big of a deal for you but i couldn't even think about affording to start over.

couldn't you have added some timing to help prevent some bogging? when my car was a 355 it would bog out of the hole with the 12lb flywheel. i never did any tuning to it aside from its mail order.

you would have to get your pcm reprogammed. but you would also have to add a wire to the harness for the pcm to be able to control pwm valve. or instead of that you could just lock the valve back. its not impossible to run the transmission but there is the above that needs to be done.. i use to own a 94 trans am and it ate transmissions for breakfast. 94 is a one of a kind of sorts for transmissions. if you haven't purchased the trans yet you can find them in trucks and caprice/impala's also.

why not go with a thinner gasket to tighten up the quench and bump your compression a bit?

i will have to try and get it running to see what i can log if possible with my scan tool. there isn't any damage to the coolant temp sensor connector. it seems to be seated properly. it looks like i need to get my ass in gear and start checking everything

It was not idling properly. it was somewhat lower then commanded. So I don't know if its the iac took a shit along with the pcm or opti. It will fire right back up as if nothing it wrong. The opti isn't wet and is a gm unit with not a whole lot of miles on it. I can't remember when it was replaced last.

well i put a new napa gold fuel filter on it.. still no changes. pulled the coolant temp connector and it acts the same. of course i am not lucky enough for it to just have a code tell me wtf is wrong with it. i also tested the tps and it was fine. i would have to assume that it a computer issue since it all started after a flash. it was running the best it has yet.

the fuel pressure didn't drop at all. i couldn't even get the clutch out and it fades out. i have to find my spare coil and icm. it is just about the same temp. i could try another tune and want to change the fuel filter just for the hell of it. the thing is i can't really go back to a stock tune with my 42# injectors.

i tried using the recovery option on jet flash. and i don't know if it did anything or not but i got it to start and was running like complete crap. but it was running.. i had to keep moving the throttle around and it finally started idling on its own. i pulled the intake tube off and sprayed carb cleaner in the iac hole and it is idling again.. although not well. and it stayed on long enough to find out it was running kind of lean.. so i made a new tune and added some fuel to the idle its somewhat back to normal in that aspect but i went to drive it and as soon as you put a load on it it just dies. i don't know whats up with this thing.
it started acting weird a few days before it had this whole issue, after i tried turning the maf back on. i barely got out of my parking lot and i knew i had to go back. so i went to turn around and it stalled. of course. then the battery didn't have enough in it to start it. so i got my other car and jumped it. well when the car start the jumper cable popped off and arced on the nearby metal. and it stalled. so i said hell with it and went back in and switched it to speed density while it was charging up. it still wouldn't run right. so i got it back to the house and went inside with some data from earlier and adjusted the tune. only to come out to run into all this shit. it didn't really run correctly on the way home. i dont know what the hell is going on with it. i am temped to put the stock engine back in it and live with it being slow.

you could get away with just swapping the intake. a retune would be ideal.

i think that being a novice that just running the car would be the best idea.. i don't know if you are just going to do it for fun or try to run a class but i would imagine with your engine its going to throw you into a higher class that opens up suspension mods and even then you are going to need to probably take some time honing your skills cause the rest of the pack will be pushing the limits of the rules and already hauling ass. i'd say get it together. find out what you can do with the car and do a suspension upgrade next winter.

i dont know what suspension is in your car but i put larger sway bars in other cars and it is big difference in how it handles. but you also want it to be balanced too and i don't know if going all out on the front and not touching the rear will be ideal. i have a z51 car and i don't foresee myself doing any kind of racing anytime soon so i haven't any worries about this cause i have no idea how bad my car actually handles now nor do i think i need to upgrade it cause i probably cant meet the limit of its suspension at the moment. lol.
