You said your "Valve spring dampners are broken"?
All 16 ! Imho, I would make sure you have oil squirting
out of all pushrods, check for coilspring bind/clearance,correct valve train geometry etc...
Start at the cam & work your way up

Sounds like valves are not adjusted correctly, yet valve spring failure acrossed the board is an entirely different issue.
I would like to see the other guys chime in on this!

Here is how I install the new seal in the housing Steve..
As any other part, they are cleaned inspected etc..
Then I use dye penetrants to check for cracks, if all is okay, then I use 3m window sealer in the inside diameter of housing (just a little bit) and then install the r/m seal with the correct installation tools.
After that I use GE silicone and cover the seal/housing lightly with GE AS WELL as fill those slots with GE, never had a problem... Oil wil travel any way it can. Seal, seal, seal !

I think most the guys covered all bases, yet i was gonna suggest that you check for leaks at the back of the intake, distributor, valve covers etc & retorque bolts after breakin if needed.....
BUT, it looks like you found the problem ;) I just saw the pic you posted above.
Worn out r/m seal housing ? BTW I just left you a phone message too

Andy, the existing crank will be offset ground to

Matt, I do use reground cams on occassion, in fact I have one in my C2. BUT, as my cam grinder says, you have to have a stout core to grind. Also I've been using the same grinder for decades and never had one of his grinds go bad.

I agree with Matt & Will !
If u r gonna sell it leave it alone. As Will said if u want to do a cam swap he placed u on the correct page .
Another option is to have a respectable cam grinder re-grind your cam, match it to the correct springs, and replace the valve locks. Your lifters as Will said do not need to be replaced as long as they are dissassembled , cleaned , inspected , n checked out.
Regrind cam about $60.00
Springs about $95.00
Locks about $8.00
