So, that is what is happening.
I hate the fact that the music (and especially the commercials) are so damn loud. Then when someone actually talks you can't hear em.

I guess I am old too.

Most people from Florida would freeze to death up here right now.

It was 19 degrees this morning. And we are in "South" Missouri. I don't see how people live any farther north.

Good morning!
I am getting real tired of winter. Another ice/sleet storm today in central Missouri. Interstate 44 was closed just west of here, as it seem a few big trucks went off the road.

It was cold and clear last night, so we got to see the lunar eclipse.

Hey, nice color

As bogus said, the '96 Opti is much harder to "Kill" with water. I have washed my LT4 engine many times.

As he also said though, don't directly spray the hose right at the Opti. And I wouldn't use one of those high pressure wands either.

Just sitting at an idle in your garage or driveway, will take quite a long time for the oil temp. to come up to operating levels.

Even driving the car, the water temp will come up to normal before the oil temp does.

IMHO, your better off not even starting the car if all you can do is idle it in the garage for 10-15 minutes. You need to drive it, to get everything up to temp.

I wouldn't mind seeing DJ win in his last 500. But at least he got a win here once.

Another one that's a sentimental favorite is Mark Martin. Mikey has won it twice, so I'd rather see someone else. Kenny Wallace would be ok too. He doesn't shut up now, can you imagine what he would be like if he won?

They do all of that just so those die-cast collectors have to buy new cars every year.

You are correct in assuming that at some point, the cost of full coverage will outweigh the benefits you might receive in case of total loss.

Only you can determine what that point is though. If your car is paid for and you would not have a problem in replacing it, if it was a total loss then I would say full coverage is not cost effective.

Having a full coverage insurance policy is just protection for stuff you can't afford to replace on your own. But at some point, you will have paid out more in premiums than the car is worth.

The above only applies to comp and collision, as I am assuming you must carry liability insurance at all times.

In Missouri, you take that Doctor's not to the DMV and they will then issue you something (not sure exactly how it's done) that will allow darker tint.

But I don't think just having the doctors note with you is enough for a law enforcement officer. They need to see something from the state that exempts you from the law (if there is a law about tint).

It looks like the Firehawk is not available in 275/40-18.
The only 18's I can find are 225/40 - 18 and 295/35 - 18

Rob, I'd keep looking for a 10 inch rear wheel if you want to use that 295/35
But as CentralCoaster said, it's only a half inch off.

Who knew tire decisions would be this hard. :thumbleft:

And actually 245/45/17s are correct for the front but the 255s would be okay too, for that.

Actually 255/45 17 is the correct size tire for the 8.5 inch front rim. That was the stock size tire and rim for the '94-'96 Corvettes :thumbleft:

Ok, I hate Mondays!
Saturday was a really nice day in south Missouri. Took the Vette out for about a 250 mile cruise. South Missouri has a lot of twisty winding roads, and in case anybody knows the area we were down along the Ozark Scenic Riverways.

Stopped and had a nice early dinner and then drove back home.
Watched the Bud Shootout (great race), then Sunday it was back to cold weather so stayed inside all day.

Today, it's ice! Winter storm warning until late tonight. The Vette is nice and warm in the garage. :thumbleft:

Neither car was stock, although only simple bolt on's.
Headers, aluminum intake and Holley 4-barrel carbs.

I helped him put the headers on his car, and I couldn't get over the fact the drivers side was a two piece design in order to fit around the steering box (I think that was why). Anyway it was weird.

Either one of us would love to have those cars back today. :thumbleft:

I don't know a lot about the Mopar engines. But my best friend had a '73 340 Dart. I had a '69 SS 350 Camaro. His was automatic, mine was a 4-speed. Can't remember the gearing on either car.

But he never once beat me in a race.

Really foggy here today, and cooling off fast. But at lunch time it was still very warm. Was home for lunch, and you could here the frogs in the pond down the road. Never heard them this early before.

They better dig back into the mud tonight though.

Oh, and I stopped to vote on the way back to work.

Lets see if anybody else has weather extremes like this.
Thursday night, we had snow in South Central Missouri. Only around 4 - 5 inches here in Rolla. Friday morning, it was around 7 degrees.

By Friday afternoon, the sun was doing a pretty good job of getting rid of the snow on any south facing hillsides. If you didn't go sledding by noon on Friday, it was too late. Saturday we drive up to St. Louis (about 100 miles northeast of here on I-44). They have a lot more snow, around 10-12 inches. But it's a nice day around 48 for a high and sunny.

Did nothing yesterday, except watch the game. :thumbleft:

Wake up today and it is in the 50's already at 7:00 AM. At lunch time it 74 degrees. It's very windy though, and there is another cold front coming. Strong thunderstorms predicted tonight, with a predicted high tomorrow of 45.

Another day closer to spring.
