Good Morning CGs!

Should be low 80s here today. Need to close the pool. Should probably get started but that sounds like work.

Been driving the mustang the past couple of days. Did an led bulb swap for the dashboard, what a huge difference it made. Sometimes it's the little things.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Evening CGs!

Gris - the first thing I always recommend is swapping out the old fluid for new. But since you had to add a bottle and a half it sounds like your system is leaking, most likely the seals in the power steering rack. Unfortunately the rebuilt racks can be hit or miss with quality (put a rebuilt on my TA and it was junk). When I had the C4 I used turn one in Michigan for a rebuild. They are twice as much as a parts store cardone but they Dyno test their work. Might be something to look into.

Had to go to BIL/SIL's house to fix the dryer. Making noise and not heating up. Watched a YouTube video from an appliance repair guy and he nailed it right on the head. Had to disassemble and clean the blower motor wheel from lint build up. Took about an hour and a half. Would go much quicker the second time around. Working great now.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Sorry I've been MIA. The train keeps running, doesn't want to stop or let me off.

I was going to say that the wife and I attended a wedding this past weekend but I just realized it was two weekends ago. How's that for losing track of time?

We've developed some unknown leak in the kitchen ceiling. It's sporadic and random. I've narrowed it down to three possible sources - the shower drain (unlikely), the faucet for the tub (somewhat likely), a roof vent issue (also likely). The problem is it doesn't appear instantly and it's very small. The tub upstairs is completely enclosed which makes it harder to diagnose, as well. I'm waiting for it to rain again to see if it's a roof issue. Never a dull moment.

TB - lights turned out great.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good Afternoon CGs!

Nice day today, got some errands done and the grass cut.

Tommy, we had the sears appliance warranty on our last fridge. After the 5th time of not fixing it correctly they gave us a new one. Lemon law/policy they said. Ours was zero deductible but the tech(s) were mostly incompetent.

Gris, is GS doing a college program or what?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Had a busy week, lots of hours at work. Wife said it was too much. I guess sometimes she's right. Friday morning I wanted to get a haircut and realized I hadn't driven the mustang in 2 weeks. Then I drove the TA to work. No point in having them if you can't enjoy them.

Can't remember if I mentioned it but got the garage door height lifted so I can fit two cars on the lift now. It's great.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Marcus, I'm surprised you don't have a fancy john Deere gps guided mower.

Gris, what were you shooting at?

Did 2 12s this week already, hoping for more. Can't say no.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Should be a decent day here. Had some rain over the weekend but everything is clear now.

Went to an anniversary / birthday surprise party over the weekend. Saw some family we haven't seen since before covid. That was nice.

Back to the daily grind, though. Hope everyone has a great day!

I feel the purge there, Tommy. Part of me wants more stuff, part of me wants to let it go. Guess it depends on the "stuff" - like the kids and furniture aren't that important but tools and cars can always be more plentiful

Gris - there's an old quote that if you're not a millionaire when you start in Congress you will be by the time you leave. Seems true enough.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Funny pictures there, Tommy.

Gris, I don't know what that's like, either...

Took the kids to a used book store today. Even with a significant trade in credit I still walked out $50 lighter. Go figure. Can't complain about that, though.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Garage door guys showed up on time this morning around 8:30 am. Four hours so far and they're wrapping it up now. Definitely worth having it done versus trying to do it myself. Can't wait to be able to use the lift properly.

Need a haircut but the wife wants to run errands. I guess the haircut will have to wait.

Lucky catch with the tire, TB.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

It's cooled off a little here. Mid 60s shooting for upper 70s later. My knkd of weather but the wife hates it. She wants 80s-90s. No thanks.

Tinkered with the mustang a little yesterday. It's got an EGR code so I was messing with that. Holds vacuum but then no change in rpm with vacuum applied and leaked on the intake side with a smoke test. Guess it's no good. I think I need to do plugs as well and I was thinking about doing injectors when I take kt apart over the winter to do gaskets. Always something, right?

Hope everyone has a great day!

We don't have the E90 here but if it's Ethanol free you should most likely be ok. But 2-3 years the gasoline can still deteriorate / break down.

Do you have data logging / live scanning capabilities?

Good Morning CGs!

Very nice cabinet, Marcus and TB. I'm always impressed by old (and new) craftsmanship.

Home from Wisconsin after a couple day trip. Visited Madison for the first time, the capital. We had a play to attend last night at the theater there. Hamilton, if you heard of it. Very well done, RR#1 loved it as she is a big theater head.

Hope everyone has a great day!

How much was in the tank to begin with? Have to run that bad gas out first. You can dilute it with new gas once most of it is gone.

It's hard to guess with limited information about the car. If you have the appropriate scanner you can watch your O2 values and see if they are changing.

You said no codes, do you mean the light isn't on or you scanned / checked for codes? You can do it with a paperclip.

Good Morning CGs!

Sunny and warm. Already hotter than it was yesterday. Starting a long weekend off though so I'm not complaining.

Tommy, good luck with the repair bills. Hopefully with your punch card you save enough to buy a golf cart.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Nothing wrong with AC Delco plugs. But plugs don't generally just go bad. If it's been sitting 2-3 years I'd lean more towards bad gas in the tank.

Good Afternoon CGs!

Seems to have cooled off slightly from the high temps and high humidity. Quite pleasant out there today.

Been working a lot the past week. I have a long weekend coming up and we're taking the kids to Wisconsin for a few days for a little break. Much needed r&r.

Happy anniversary to you and the wife, TB.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Been hot and humid here. Had some rain yesterday but didn't help much.

Got new headlights the other day for the trans am but haven't had a chance to install them yet, been too busy working. Hopefully soon.

Letty, good luck with the neighbors.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy belated anniversary, Tommy.

Hot and humid yesterday. Keeping busy, worked 12 hrs yesterday and again today. Garage door guy came by today to give an estimate. I like him. Didn't give me a specific price quote but seems he's in the ballpark I'm looking for. Won't know until the estimate comes through.

Drove the mustang today. Not all there power wise. I need to pull the plugs and check those, smoke the intake, and maybe clean the TB and reset the idle / tps. All these 80s cars are similar in technology, not much different than the old Vette.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Still can't believe it's August. After weeks of stagnant tool sales finally had a solid day of selling yesterday. Pretty much out of stock on everything now which was the goal. I do feel the minor urge to stock up again....dunno. Recession is coming and sales will be even slower.

Marcus, hope you feel better after your hornet encounter.

TB, when do they schedule the surgery for the baby? Thought they did that early on.

It'll be a hot one here today.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Wow guys, can't believe it's August already.

Been keeping busy, tinkered around the house and in the garage today.

At the movies now with RR#2 waiting for it to start. Haven't been to the theater in a while. It's dead here. Not sure how they stay afloat.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Congratulations to you and the family, TB!

Speaking of kids I tried to take mine to the movies yesterday but they didn't want to go for some reason. I was surprised. So we walked around the mall instead. In the evening after dinner we got in the TA and went to a car show about 25 minutes away. RR#1 loves car shows, RR#2 not so much. But he got a hot dog afterwards so that made up for it.

We are headed over to BIL/SIL's hoise this afternoon for some smoked pork shoulder. Should be a nice time.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

It's cooled off a little here. Temperature is enjoyable. Top down weather for sure.

RR#1 is away at eastern Illinois university for high school marching band camp. RR#2 has middle school day camp all day this week. What an oddly quiet house

Nice work TB.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Cooled off a bit here, it's actually enjoyable. Just took the dog for a walk. I'm exhausted from the weekend. Getting up early three days in a row and a lot of physical stuff. I'm ready to go back to work to take a break

I would have to see the electric Vette before I make any judgement.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Another warm one here.

Letty, that just doesn't sound right about your boss. First the ad / pay situation. Second the fact that he has you as a self employed subcontractor. You're not, sounds like he's attempting to avoid paying taxes and workman's comp on you. Good luck with that.

Hope you have a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Hot one here as well. Got the new contactor switch installed in the AC unit, seems to be working correctly finally.

Installed a new LED flasher relay in the Trans Am so now the turn signals work. They stopped working when I put in LED marker lights. Always something.

Good luck with the houses, Letty.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy birthday Tommy. I didn't hear your name on the Phlash Phelps 100th bday shout outs though.

House ac continues to be a pia. Condenser was running the other day with no signal. So I turned it off, contactor switch was moving freely and had correct power. Swapped the start run capacitor and seemed to be ok. Did the same thing a few hours later. Checked the contactor again this morning and it was sticking after tstat was turned off. So I've got a new one coming tonight and I'll get that swapped in the morning. A lot of headache for an $8 part but that's how it goes. Better than a service call.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Muggy here with heavy air. Might need to run the ac. Grass needs to be cut. Have se tidying up to do as usual. The garage is mostly organized after the lift install. Wish I had more room but working with what I've got.

Letty, paint looks good. When will it be done?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Not too hot here today but overcast and muggy. Wife is babysitting baby niece and I dropped the kids off there. I'm a bachelor for a few hours.

Gee, Tommy has a "grow house" - who knew?

Hope everyone has a great day.

Thanks TB. Garage door guy is coming Monday. He said over the phone I'll need to change my opener to a jackshaft style. We'll see how much that is.

My ceilings are pretty tall, I think 12'. The problem is I have a steel beam running across the center that lowers the height to about 10'. And right now the garage door is too low so I have to get that raised.

Good Morning CGs!

Funny thing happened last night. This followed me home so I put it in the garage so it wouldn't be cold. Looks like I have a lot of rearranging in my future.

Sorry to hear about the troublesome customer TB. Good luck.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Sounds like a real PIA, Letty. But the paint is looking good so there's a positive, right?

I've been working a lot this week, sorry I've been MIA.

Picked up the Trans Am yesterday. Hood and paintwork is done, my buddy did the back up camera, painted the calipers, detailed and ceramic coated it. Turned out great.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Alternator is very common on C4s, Gris. Glad it was something minor.

My TA is done with paint. My buddy had it the last few days to paint the calipers, install the exhaust tips, a few other things. Look forward to driving it.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Good luck TB, hope it passes by you guys with no complications.

AC has been running well since the refill. So now the thermostat went bad. Go figure. Always something. One of the benefits of being a hoarder is that I still had the old one sitting in the garage so I reinstalled that for now.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Wanted to cut the grass this morning and as soon as I walked outside it started raining. Oh well.

Letty, I ordered new lights because they are already aftermarket plastic and cracked. No point in tinting that. I got the fog lights from the same place as the headlights and they will match.

Hope everyone has a great day!
