Well it's a good thing they went back in

During the follow up the other day, the doc said a piece of the old stink had broken off!

Things look a lot better with the new one.

That's the good news, the bad new is that the stint has to stay in at least until my next follow up in late June.

So much for racing until then

Composite springs actually have a damping effect

your concentrating on WHAT

I saying look at WHY

if it's old and died, then it's probably just the shock

if it died because of the road condition, then something else besides the shock could have been damaged.

I've seen uprights crack!

What quantities are we talking on parts?

I ping a couple of manufactures, they might be interestedm but only if the quantities are high enough

Obviously match stock would be the goal

Depending on the part, match function would be enough.

My need to get a hold of a stock part, even non-functional to get a quote

Keep in mind a $5 part may need a $10k mold with a min run of 500 parts

went through this on a recent project, it was cheaper to make our own design and in the process make it even better

It's either the display or the signal to it.

I'd start looking around, replace it, and then do a diagnostics on the old one.

You actually have more clamping force with drums.
(which is why semis still use them)

They retract all the way, so there's no drag when not in use.
(gas mileage)

They're also easy to setup a parking brake.

The issue is with heat

People overlooked the pins on the sliding calipers

Check the groves on the slides
They wear out.
They make oversized pins to compensate.
