I was offered a set from Melrose for free, but didn't take them because he wanted to give me C5 headers. I couldn't convince him to get me the C4 headers.

I remember when the first C5 kits came out. The guy showing the install claimed no cutting involved.

"Step 1- cut this panel"

hmm, no cutting?

I have a buddy who sells and installs these kits. He gets $1800 to do the install including the kit.

I was supposed to be there, but I couldn't make it. On other forums I can't believe what people are saying.

The track was not at fault in any way.

It's a shame to lose somone so young, but at least he did it doing something he loved rather than some other way.

There have been many wrecks at many tracks. This wasn't the first and surely won't be the last, though maybe the next one won't be as bad once they figured out why it happened.

I did read somewhere that the chutes burned right off.
A similar accident happened there years ago. The drivers name escapes me, but he was driving Roland Leong's Hawaiian Punch car. He was knocked out halfway down the track and bouncing off the wall and went through the sand trap and hit the wall at the end.

Another time I was at the motocross track which is adjacent to the shutdown area and a jet car wrecked and landed on the fence(over the wall) next to the moto X. The riders were pretty freaked because where the car wrecked was right at a very important and dangerous turn to the stairstep hill.

From what I heard on the radio this morning, the NJSP are investigating the scene.

I was talking to my tire guy the other day. He told me of his friends 2003 F250SD that had a piston squirter that brke off in his diesel. After removing the cab, removing the engine, flipping it over and removing the oil pan, they discovered another squirter had fell off. He discovered the first one during an oil change, it came out the drain hole.
When they removed the oil pan, they discovered exactly what you did. The pan had rusted through.

They charged him $300 for a new pan, but no labor since they needed to remove the pan anyway to replace the squirters.

So if the squirters were covered under warranty, why wasn't the oil pan?

This is the price we pay for the big three going overseas for parts.

I'm not an expert on these things, but in the last year I have bought three.

First up was a Sony Bravia(don't remember the exact model). It's a 50" rear projection LCD and for Blu Ray and PS3, it's friggin awesome. Cost was $1399 at Sears. They did a price match on what Best Buy was offering.
I have Optimum IO and it broadcasts at 1080i and makes a big difference over the standard stuff.

Second was a Hitachi 42" plasma. This one is even better than the Sony. I have this in the bedroom and the picture is great. It was $678 at Sears on a special promotion offered to Sears Card holders.

Third is a Panasonic something. Actually my dad bought this to replace his Mitsubishi rear projection. If I'm not mistaken it is a DLP(I'll have to stop by and check). It has a great picture and was bought at 6th Ave Electronics for $1000 and included a free stand.
He loves it, but he doesn't have HDTV yet, he wanted the 56" screen because the CC letters are larger and easier to read.

First off, this whole thing has got out of hand and frankly I'm shocked that John and Mike would join here just to post what they post.

A little history here.

I only met John(J.P.M.) over the winter sometime after New Years at Mike's house(Medriver99), so I don't know him that well.
I helped him gain Regional Coordinator status over at CF. He does an excellent job creating and coordinating events, he's a perfect man for the job.
The second time I ever met him was in Bowling Green for Cruise In 9.(the only continous event that has run as long as mine). We discussed some of the happenings in the "Unity" cruise. I had blamed John for everything before digesting the facts. I apologized to him in a PM and again in person.
Yes there was an incident between me and him on the way home that has nothing to do with anything between the two forums or anything else.
It was simply bad judgment on my part and I apologized to him both through PM, in an open post and on his voice mail.
He says we're cool and I hope he means it as I have nothing against this man. In his own words, he is simply a patsy for this whole thing.
As for Mike, he spoke with me very briefly at my wedding about posting about my crab trip. I told him I may or may not. After consulting with some others it was agreed not to post about it.
Now I direct this next statement to you Mike if you are reading this. None of your friends were not invited. I almost posted about it, but you guys beat me to it.
I had made a comment a while ago about my dislike for New Yorkers, but what everyone read was that I didn't like any New Yorkers and that my friend is not the case.
There are specific members of the Corvetteforum that reside in the state of NY that I do not want to see or talk to if I can help it. The list is very short, it can be counted on one hand.
Now the question,"Why do I not want to associate with these people?"
Answer, because they helped in me losing my moderator privileges for doing something wrong and me doing my job. Because a certain member has "Supporting Tuner" under his name, his side was taken and he got his way yet again.
I won't mention names, but I helped this person get "NYC Events Coordinator" on CF. This person in my eyes is not a friend, was never a friend and will never be a friend to me again.
He's done so much to me (well actually only twice) that I can't trust this person for anything.
He only cares about himself even though in open threads he preaches about how much he does care, but if it came down to him or someone else for help, he would pick himself.
I may sound hypocritical in this last statement based on my actions with JPM on the Cruise In, but everyone that truly knows me that I will help anyone anytine that it is humanly possible, but sometimes things just don't work out the way they should.
As far as the rest of the people on the list, I don't want to talk to them because they were the frist to go and post like nothing happened after the shit hit the fan and savewave cleaned it up. One other person threw digs at me indirectly. I'm a smarter person than most give me credit for and the last does nothing but send me PM's telling me how I should do my job or questioning my actions. There is no need to list these people by name since most of them will probably not read this anyway and if they did, they wouldn't care.
Mike told me that everyone from the northeast misses me. Yeah, I can tell by all the phonecalls, emails and PM's that I haven't received yet.
Only one person sent me an ecard and she happens to be one of the people on my short list. I did send a reply and that was the end of that.
The only reason I ever considered making my run more private was due to the fact that I didn't want these certain people to join me. By posting on a public forum, I can't exclude anyone and by having these people join me on my long running cruise, I would be uncomfortable and I don't want to make a spectacle out of myself(although I'm doing that now).
As for people who didn't get an invite, there are many people who either don't share their email with the forum, or didn't add their name to another RC's email list(which is the one I used). I did send PM's to a few people.
As far as me snding an invite after the "Unity Cruise" was posted, I didn't even know it was posted until someone sent me a reply asking if mine was the same as that one. Only then did I realize that my idea was basically stolen from me.
Why my date was used I don't know. Had John, George or Mike called me or emailed me, I probably would have not had a problem with it, but since they took it upon themselves to do it anyway, I think you can understand my anger.
George had posted about my crab run, he didn't PM me about it, he also has my phone number, I read it much later after several dozen replies. At the time I read it, I wasn't sure if I was even going to have one yet, I was still in the process of checking my calendar to be sure the date I selected was still available for me to do something.
Most who responded stated that a July date would have been fine until someone mentioned that mine was on the calendar for June 14th.
From readin some of the replies in the "Unity" thread, most of the people are missing the point of the whole trip. It is not a Cannonball Run down the Jersey Turnpike and DE Route 1.
It is a scenic leisurely drive down the back roads of Delaware where on some occasions you can hit triple digits if you choose. It's mainly to enjoy the scenery though and that's hard at 100 mph.
The Go Karts are not the main event, the go karts was simply a time filler that got a little more popular. I decided not to go to Midway anymore because they got a little too strict with their policy. Jungle Jims ended up being(and still is) a better facility.
I see people are concerned with rain. Anyone that knows me, knows that my events go on rain or shine.
The main event is dinner at the Old Mill Crab House. I discovered this jewel back in 1994 and have been maikng runs to it with my friends ever since. 2000 was the first year that I brought my Corvette buddies along. It was never posted on any forum, I don't think I even posted about it until the third one.
Bottom line, I don't care if you guys make this run or not, I just wish you would either pick a different date or location to avoid any conflicts between our groups. But now it doesn't matter since I've postponed mine due to circumstances beyond my control.
As far as me not posting on CF, why should I? I'm not really welcome there anymore ever since I got the axe. I put myslef on the block or the people in the Northeast and I got the axe. I did the same for my C4 buddies and got chopped up and banned from the site.
I have since been reinstated and occasionally visit the C4 sections, but mostly read the drag racing section.
I don't visit the Northeast Regional section since there is nothing there for me now.
I feel as if the whole area is against me.
It was never about picking sides, but a few that I've talked to have chosen to take sides and leave me out, so the chances of me posting over there are very slim.
I may be ranting here and not even realizing if I'm making a point or not, but some of it needed to be said.

To Mike, George and John, all three of you have my phone number. To the rest, if you have any comments, please email me at mrmojo@optonline.net

I have asked Andy to lock this after I post as I'd rather have criticism in private.

I was originally going to post this on CF also, but with the mods watching my every move, I've chosen not to now, so you guys can just go ahead and PM the link to this thread to those you feel should read it.

Oh, and Mike, I love the excuse about gas costing too much to go to Bowling Green.

I have come to a conclusion... I was pissed earlier as I got a better grasp of the so-called "unity cruise," but as I have been reading this thread and thinking, I really don't care what they do.

Let them implode. It's not my concern. We don't need to exist based on their drama. They are resorting to some nasty tactics, but I refuse to sink to their level.
I've learned over the years to stop worrying about what others think of me. Maybe it's time I really start to not worry. I just can't help being a good guy though, but most over there don't deserve to be associated with me or any of the fine folks we have here.

I wonder why attendance was down? Do you think gas prices kept the wealthier C5/C6 owners away?

Do you think it was perceptional attitudes towards the new CF?

The fight sounds like the place is spinning apart.... sad, really.
The gas price excuse was pure bull. Some I talked to mentioned that. It was more about the IB takeover that kept attendance down.

In the CF meeting there were maybe a half dozen folks who have been on the forum for more than two years, most were brand new members who know nothing of the history.(not that it would've stopped them)

The fighting was over the placement of chairs to hold parking spots. There were so many empty parking spots all over that there wasn't a need to hold any spots.

I hope you and Stacey had a good time Frank. I'm looking forward to the Crab Run!
Crab Run is not happening this year, at least mine isn't.
I've made quite a few more enemies at CF and a lot of them are going on my crab trip that they stole from me.

The real one will be later this year. Details will follow once I work them out.

Not many pics since there was nothing worth taking pics of.

Attendance was way down, wore my Guru shirts to help promote.

Lived dangerously, drove home on bald tires only to discover that halfway home they were down to the cords!

More people hate me now due to an incident on the highway(I may or may not discuss that later).

Just J ran a cat over on a backwoods cruise then clipped a 6 x 6 pice of wood and tore up his suspension.

Almost had a big fight between the Chicago and FLA groups and a little bit of PA and WV mixed in.

After I upload pics, I'll hopefully remember to post some.

This is going to take a while, I took 675 pics and I keep losing my connection, so it may be a week or so before I get to post anything.

I wanted a six speed and I got it, but I wanted an automatic the second time and I got it.

The last two new cars I bought I wanted a manual and the dealers told me no way I could even get one even though they were an option.

On my Silverado, right on the window sticker it said," Automatic Transmission-Standard $895.

If it's standard, why are they charging me, then they give a discount if you happen to get a manual trans.

I hate automatic transmissions, I really do, but I'm stuck with 4 out of 5 cars with them.

I don't agree with 75% of Corvette owners choosing automatics, true, 75% of Corvettes are automatics(C4 Generation anyway), I think it's more of the damn dealers ordering the cars that way. Someone walks in and wants a vette that day, the dealer says we can order you a six speed and wait 6 weeks or you can drive an automatic off the lot today.

Anyway, to answer the original question, my '93 came with 2.59 gears and I later switched to 3.45's which seem to be ideal for street and strip.

Aftermarket companies have been making parts in China for a very long time.
A well known supplier of valves and such right in my town gets raw castings from China but finishes them here. Only the top dollar high end NHRA stuff gets made here and I'm not even sure of that.
Craftsman tools, the majority are made in China. Torque wrenches used to carry a one year warrnty(maybe lifetime at one point) but now are reduced to three months.

I'm having a hard time finding anything not made in a fooreign country with China leading the way.

I even found a website for American made products, but even they admit that only a percentage of the product needs to be made here to be considered "Made In USA"

If anyone knows where I can find a listing of products that are 100% made in USA, I'd like to have it.

Didn't know that. My car came with mats that match the carpeting pretty well. They don't have a logo on them. How can I tell if they are original equipment or replacements? Mine 'vert's a '94. If the mats are original, I will replace them with aftermarket for driving around like you do, and save them for judging as well.
I don't know when the change came, but my '95 has a hook on the floor and the mats have a hole that lines up with it.

We had over 30 cars which wasn't bad since most folks were scared of the bad weather that never came.

Jeff, Thanks! For doing my duty, they canned me.

Gordon, I hear you brother.

From what I know, CF sold back in February of 2007, but we weren't informed until after Cruise In. I forget exactly, but those stupid Google ads started appearing and all hell broke loose. Remember at that time I was still on their side with no idea what was going to happen.
No matter what I did, they always had my back. If I ever got out of line, Jim or Jesse would PM me and explain why I shouldn't have said what I said and would simply lock the thread and move on.
Now they monitor everything I do, as if I'm some kind of threat to them. Well maybe they're right. I have a lot of friends and I can get them away from there and over here. It will take time though, but in the end it will be worth it.

Me and Jim Willis go back a ways. We used to meet up anytime I was in Alabama, have lunch dinner whatever. We even met up in Tampa when he had business there. His wife is a great person, I wonder how she feels about what he did for me.
Jesse I never knew well, but we do know each other well enough and he has always treated me with respect, but he is conspicuously silent through this last ordeal.

I now know what Sensei Earl and Blake felt like, I wonder what Bigtoe thinks of all this?

These guys were all personal friends of mine, more than just internet acquaintances and it saddens me that they act this way.

The only reason I stayed on as a member over there was because I still have friends there and the Drag Racing section is focused mostly on the Northeast, so I woul visit there mostly.

The Northeast section there can kiss my ass, they had a hand in all of this. SO far I haven't run inti any of those assholes, but when I do, I may actually run into them(just hope I have my truck instead of the vette that day).

Enough for now, I'm going to eat my dinner and relax.

Thanks for listening everyone.

All I said was that the Admins, not the Mods banned Jeffvette. It was posted in the ZR1 section and of course the whole thread has been removed.
They did the same thing to a thread in Drag Racing where nothing bad at all was said.

They've been monitoring my PM's as well. They even took away my Lifetime status.

My time spent there has been reduced greatly before this, but now I guess it's over. Nothing like spending 20% of your life helping people and dedicating yourself to something you believed in only to have it stripped away for a dollar.

It's all about the money, it never was until Troy sold. Once that happened the place started falling apart, even before we knew the place was sold.

Mine must be the newer design since I have the round stock to fit in the jack.

I know I'm not supposed to talk about this, but I felt I had to let out some steam so I don't go nuts.

I was placed in Moderation today for comments made in the ZR-1 section of CF.

To anyone here who I have ever placed in moderation, I apologize. I had no idea how bad that could actually be.

My participation has gone down over there ever since I was dethroned, but now I may not ever post again.

Time to move on and get that part of my life behind me. Should make for an interesting visit for the Cruise In in Bowling Green.

I'm going to need a Guru T-shirt.

I think we had maybe an inch here in Central Jersey. It sucks, maybe I should move further north!

How much gas in the tank?

I noticed that the "check gauges" doesn't mean to check that the gauges are working, but rather what they are reading(high coolant temp, low fuel, etc).

I like the stripes, Mojo. Tasteful and subtle. But for the race car I'm going to go a little more noticable.

I want to do Grand Sport stripes, but I want to make the car faster first!

If I can do it, anybody can!!

It comes with directions and they're pretty easy to follow.

Took maybe 20 minutes or so.

Be sure to check the coil wire. There is usually a plastic casing over it to prevent it from rubbing on the water pump. Sometimes the casing is missing and the coil wire will rub on the water pump shorting it out.

This is what happened to me a few years back. Changed the coil wire and all was well.

I had the same symptoms. Car would crank, but not start and when it did start(sometimes I got lucky) it would sputter at high RPM.

I was on vacation and needed to get home 1100 miles away. So I didn't stop much except for gasoline and I made it home OK. A buddy of mine took one look and fixed it in 10 seconds.

I'll have to upload some pics, but I have the black stripes from Mid America that say "LT1" on them.

Frank(mojo),

I hope you do make it to the cruise-in. I am hoping to make it also. I, for one, just want to shake your hand. I think you are one of the "true" Corvette guys out there.

Hopefully many more of you can make it too. I just wish it didn't have to be a "CF" event, but who knows, maybe next year we can plan our own!!
I will be there, but I'm booked at the Red Roof which is across from the Hampton/Baymont.
Just look for the guy with the red corvette.

OK, call me stupid, but where the hell is the online application? I didn't see a place to register either, so I can't log in to see if the app shows up.

I'm no expert, but I don't like the all in one's.

I bought an HP for my dad two years ago for like $80 at Circuit City, I think it was an Photosmart 8250. Thing is awesome.
