I think the situation over there reflects how that place has been managed. The forum has been dying. It's the high horse attitudes and arrogance of the Mod Gods like Iron Chef and others that have killed that forum. Just take a look at the views/post counts, a majority of them 10 or less, half of those less than 5 views/posts. lol. Damn. I kind of take pleasure in that though. karma's a bitch. Resized Image

YES, trade zone development IS WHAT is being referenced.

No one, including PeteK, asked anything about any WHO's being referenced. He asked about WHAT's. And WHAT is being referenced is trade zone development, which is what is AT THIS MOMENT leading to dissolution of municipal boundaries, which will in turn, lead to dissolution of US boundaries.

The fact that I mentioned WHO came up with the theory was information I was giving as a courtesy to those who otherwise would not know. Is that ok? Resized Image Also, there is more than one way to interpret the question given by the PeteK.

Trade zone development. Not a split of the United States, but a merging of states into trade zones.

In NC (and probably in all states), the counties are already merging into economic development zones of multiple counties, with development ACROSS state lines in the works.

Cluster? Does the 'cluster' have a name yet?

That's not what is being referenced. The professor that came up with this furbrain idea is Igor Panarin, and he believes there will be a literal split of the U.S. into these sections. He believes the U.S.A. will cease to be the U.S.A. any more.

I think almost $30 when I bought some Corvette anti theft valve caps last year. lol. Been an Ebay member since early 2001, with a grand total of 9 purchases since, so I average about 1.3 purchases per year. LOL. But I was quite the busy bee in 2001, I purchased 5 items in that year alone.

From all the dyno numbers i've seen, LT1's typically dyno between 255 and 270 rwhp, and LT4's come in at 290-310.

Just in general. On ebay on the registry site. I will always see more individual 93/94/95 cars for sale over 92's.

I usually only check around the Austin area. I suppose my data would be different if I actually researched outside a 50 mile radius.

I've noticed this too, but it's typically the 90-92 ZR1's that are for sale. They bumped the horsepower from 375 in '90-'92 up to 405 beginning in '93.

Actually it is only 90-91's that you see for sale the majority of the time, as they made almost damn near all of them in the first 2 years.

1990 - 3,049
1991 - 2,044
1992 - 502
1993 - 448
1994 - 448
1995 - 448

I actually see more 93-95 cars for sale than 92's for some reason.

I'm curious if any of us (especially heavy posters) are seriously looking to move to a newer Vette?

I really dig my car, and don't see myself affording a newer car any time soon, but if certain parts become impossible to find, and as I grow tired of climbing out of the Ruby, maybe a C5 would be nice. Unless I could move all the way to a C6.

Right now, the newer generation forums are pretty quiet. I see that changing, and it would be great if a few more of us ended up distributed among the other gens. To preserve the culture, so to speak.

So... Anyone seriously thinking about it?

Me Me Me Me Me!

I had considered a C5 when I was first doing my vette shopping, but it just didn't fit the budget. My last payment on my C4 is in January, :toothy5: :toothy5: :toothy5: so depending on how my financial situation is in 4 or 5 months, I may decide to buy a C5 next year. Unlike a lot of other people though, I won't be moving from a C4 to a C5, I'll be adding a C5 to the stable. I do not want another C4, at least, not right now. Once I have a C5 and C6, then I may get another C4. My C5 will be a 6-speed though; a Z06 is a consideration.

Here's another to Vette2Vette. I've only ordered maybe $20 worth of stuff on a couple of occasions, but they were very helpful regardless. And for that reason alone, I've had their number programmed into my phone since. They'll be the first call I'll make if I ever need to get any parts for my car.

I know better than to hose down my LT1. I still wouldn't hose it even if i wrapped the opti. Not worth the risk imo. but I've had a couple of close calls with coolant hoses busting open in the past, i lucked out and it never drenched the opti. lol.

My engine was so grimy when I was cleaning it I must've filled and emptied out 8 or 9 buckets of dirty water. The engine even smells clean now. I felt like an idiot when I accidentally stepped into the bucket, but it was all in a days work. lol

Ugh. I just spent 4 to 5 hours cleaning my engine. I'm sore, i'm tired, but it was long overdue. Sure, I've cleaned the engine once or twice before, but the previous cleanings were basically just a wipedown with wet wipes. This time though, I brought out the simple green. I didn't expect it to work so well, but now i know why everyone swears by it. That stuff cuts right through the grease with ease. I wish I could take pics, but my digital camera is busted, so you guys will have to use your imaginations. lol.

The only question is, how long before I have to bring out the simple green again?

I'm guessing my engine has never had a thorough cleaning in 15 years, the car only had 45k miles when I got it 4 years ago, so i doubt the previous owner ever cleaned it. I'll probably do some more cleaning to it next weekend, but I hope this is maybe a once a year thing.

I haven't been around for a while because I got caught up in all of the political threads over at DC. Resized Image I get the worst resonance from about 1500-1800rpm. Once I hit 2000, it calms down a lot and it's not bad at all.

The only thing is is that my highway cruise speed is usually 1500-1800rpm when i'm in 4th. I can go to 3rd, but I don't want to be cruising at 2500-3000 rpm the whole time. I'm not sure if an X pipe or something similar would help with it or not. I do get annoyed with the resonance at times, but i've learned to deal with it. I hit 3000-5000 rpm a lot more now than I used to. Resized Image

I haven't seen that particular link, but that's not a bad price compared to what the guy at bttfparts.com wants for a fully assembled flux capacitor, $500. If my parents ever decide to build a time machine out of the DeLorean, i'll show them the link you provided.

If I remember correctly, I believe that it belonged to one of my father's coworkers. It's not that exciting of a story. Resized Image. Honestly, I'm still puzzled as to why they bought a DeLorean. For quite a few years they had been throwing around the idea of getting a weekend toy, but it was usually the idea of getting a Corvette. They came very close one time to buying a C3, but they never did. The DeLorean thing came out of the blue to me, and to my siblings. None of us had any idea they wanted the time machine. I don't know if they had been thinking of getting a DeLorean, or if it just happened to be an opportunity they couldn't pass up. When I asked the very same question as you(My question was "Why a Delorean?") I was merely told that they had always liked the DeLorean, and they kind of left it at that. Resized Image I guess it was the right timing, right price, right mileage (only 16k miles), and was in nearly mint condition.

But I'd like to think that I had a little something to do with the decision. Ever since I was 4 or 5 years old, I wanted a Corvette, it had always been a dream of mine. The dream finally came true 3 years ago, at the beginning of 2005, and coincidently the DeLorean was purchased a year and a half later in mid 2006. Resized Image Perhaps it was just a coincidence, or maybe they figured if if I could buy the car I was passionate about, then they could too. But if you can get a fully detailed answer out of them, please let me know. Resized Image

Thought I'd share these with everyone. Here are some pics of the DeLorean my parents bought a couple of years ago. There's no flux capacitor, sorry. It doesn't require plutonium or 1.21 jigowatts of electricity for time travel, I was very surprised when I saw it for the first time in my parents' garage. To say it was a surreal experience is bit of an understatement. I'm still kind of in disbelief, but it has mostly sunk in to my brain that there is a DeLorean in the family. Btw, i don't know why when you click on the pics that it says the photos have been deleted, but here's a link to the full size and additional pics. http://s4.photobucket.com/albums/y142/vetteusa/The%20DeLorean/

Disabling the SIR system (per FSM):

Remove or Disconnect:

*Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle's wheels are pointing straight ahead.
*Turn the ignition switch to "LOCK."
1. AIR BAG fuse from fuse block.
2. Lower trim Panel - LH
3. Connector Position Assurance (CPA) and yellow 2-way connector at the base of the steering column

IMPORTANT
*With the AIR BAG fuse removed and ignition switch "ON," the "INFL REST" warning lamp will be "ON." This is normal operation and does not indicate an SIR system malfunction.

I never had any kind of run in with you over there, Mojo, but I think you were one of, if not, THE best mod at CF. You were always fair and justified in performing the mod duties you were given.

On a separate note, I actually consider myself fortunate to have been a part of CF, but only because you guys (Bogus, CC, everyone) were residents over there, as you guys are some of the friendliest and most knowledgeable members of the Corvette community I've come to know. (But I'd like to think I contributed some useful knowledge too :toothy5: )

But the good thing is the knowledge isn't gone, it's just been given a new permanent parking spot, and that's here at Guru. :thumbright:

I'm not joining this discussion, but Steve, I'm trying to interpret your post. In your own opinion, are you saying that this possibility is actually a good thing or a bad thing?

When I hit the link I get an add for a free Super Mario Galaxy thing. How do I get around it?

I'm not sure what you're talking about, so I've uploaded to an additional location.

There's really only one reason to lurk at CF, and that's to keep track of any SW area events. Other than that, here and DC are all that's needed.
