I ordered a new GM blue top for my 96 last March. It was $900 plus $32 shipping from a dealer in NW Florida.

Part number 12370123.

You just missed a good deal on Brand X:

I understand and fully agree.

The notify first rule should apply to all but the very clear cut bad posts such as porn, spam attacks, etc. Understand I only say a PM should be sent before taking action. The action could be taken immediately after the PM was sent.

How long would this rule delay taking an action? How long does it take to send a quick PM? Two minutes or so?

I think this insures that the OP is told by the moderator of the action, and gets an answer on why the action was taken. This also gives the moderator a minute or two to think about what he is about to do before he hits the delete key. I may be wrong, but don’t moderators have a bad day too?

Just a suggestion...

Simple fix... The rule should be that the explanation PM must be sent before the deletion/edit is made.

Subject:Manual Transmission Fluid Usage In 2007 And Prior Manual Transmissions And Transfer Cases - keywords case fluid manual transmission transfer #PIP3836B - (02/05/2007)

Models:2007 and Prior Passenger Cars and Trucks
2007 and Prior HUMMER H2
2007 HUMMER H3
2007 and Prior Saturn Passenger Cars and Trucks

This PI is superseded to add a note under concerns. Please discard PIP3836A.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:

Use of manual transmission fluid part number 88861800 U.S. (88861801 Canada) in place of Dexron III.

[color=red]Important Note: If the vehicle owners manual lists Dexron VI as the recommended transmission, transaxle or transfer case fluid disregard any information supplied in this PI. Use eSI and or the vehicle owners manual to determine what type of fluid should be used prior to referencing the below information [/color:3b3bd6900c]

Recommendation/Instructions:

Manual Transmission fluid part number 88861800 U.S. (88861801 Canada) is currently available through GMSPO. Current and past model vehicles listed above with either a manual transmission or transfer case that REQUIRE Dexron III should use the above listed manual transmission fluid. This fluid is a direct replacement for Dexron III in manual transmissions and transfer cases. DO NOT use Dexron VI in place of the manual transmission fluid in any manual transmissions or transfer cases as a failure may result.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.

Dreams by Van Halen featuring the Blue Angels.

I found this on the net, but I am not sure of its accuracy:

Sammy Hagar's father was a Blue Angel during the Korean conflict. He is seen at the begining of the video saluting the camera. He was also an ametuer guitarist and co-wrote the chords to this song with Eddie.

The outcome is our current society.

I know the original idea behind the product is to connect a LT1 computer to a L98 engine. But if this distributor can send the proper signals to an LT1 computer there should not be any reason why it couldn't work in an LT1 engine provided the LT1 is modified to accept a conventional type distributor.

I think going to a conventional type distributor that can also supply the optispark's signals would have several advantages.

I wonder if Edelbrock would produce an optional LT1/LT4 intake with a conventional distributor mounting hole?

I've never liked the optispark location, and this sounds like the most plausible solution so far to both move it and improve it.

I'm thinking of this differently... If the distributor takes over the duties of an Optispark - Can we run this distributor in a LT1/LT4 to completely do away with the front mounted Optispark?

I'm sure I've read about people retrofitting distributors on LT1s.

It's an interesting possibility!

This is a post on Brand X about a very interesting distributor:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showt ... 1563703421#post1563703421

It is supposed to allow a L98 to use a LT1 computer, and this distributor substitutes the signal normally generated by the Optispark.

I sent them an email asking if this distributor could be used in an LT1 to eliminate the Optispark. It will be interesting to see what they say.

In 1980 I owned a 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1. It was silver with black stripes. It came with a 302 and a 3 speed. I built and installed a 429 Cobra Jet with a C6 automatic.

Keep in mind this was 1980. New cars were no challenge at all. I was a true terror on the road with that car.

I'm an Army brat. My father retired a 1SG in 1973. He served in Korea and Vietnam. He was a helicopter flight simulator instructor - Blue Canoe, Huey, and Apache. Retired again after 20 years Civil Service for a total of 40 years service.

The Apache flight simulator was cool!

I wanted to join up, but the military wouldn't take me with my health issues. :sad7:

If you start sinking a lot of money on upgrades/restoration in a C4, you should look into an agreed upon collector car insurance policy if you qualify and can live with the limitations.

With normal insurance you'll pay more in premiums and get screwed if you have a total loss.

I have my car insured with Sneed. You can get an online quote here:

I bought one of these pressure bleeders, but have not used it yet. I think it will work well to flush the system of old fluid.

I've bought parts for my Hummer H2 from him and was very happy with the customer service.

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., the largest North American tire maker by sales, will raise prices on all car and light-truck tires in North America by as much 7% starting Feb. 1. The move is due to rising costs in areas including raw materials and transportation, a company spokesman said. The increase will include the Goodyear, Kelly and Dunlop brands. Tire makers have been boosting prices over the past two years amid rising oil and rubber costs, along with consumer demand for larger tires to equip sport-utility and luxury vehicles.

The head unit is just a controller for the tuner/amp in the rear compartment. Most of the wiring you will need terminates at the tuner/amp, and you will need to extend the wiring and antenna lead to the new stereo in the dash.

This Metra wiring harness is designed to extend the wiring from the tuner/amp in the rear compartment to a dash mounted aftermarket radio with powered speaker outputs.

You will still need to do the resistor mod because the factory head unit interfaces with the dimmer circuit, and removing the head unit generates a computer code that will flash "sys" on the digital dash display.

Exactly which system do you currently have in your car? Do you have the Bose with amps at each speaker?

What are your intentions? What do you want to install?
